The fuselage is almost as long as the box is tall. It's no Tamiya superkit in terms of parts count but the detail's still pretty damn good, not to mention all the electrical stuff! I figure the wiring will be the hardest part.

I just found this thread... there's always a "Holy Grail" item for any collector, no matter the community, isn't there.

For me, I've been searching long and hard for a 1/72 Macchi M.52 from Vintage Models. I've seen the MC.72 a few times, but there's just something about the bulged nose of the M.52 that just looks cool... I mean even more than float planes usually do.

Really ? I think it might have been reissued but pretty sure I have one in the garage

It would be the Pegasus 1/72 Macchi M5 flying boat for me. Lost out for one on eBay and seems to be a bit of a rarity.

Haven't seen any reissues, I have to admit, and the original is rare as hens teeth over here in Scandinavia.
That said - lo and behold - just this morning one turned up on our local version of Evilbay!!

1:35 FV432,  why thank you Takom,     been waiting a long time for one of these, at less than a limb.  ( part of my overarching plan,  1:35 and UK armour  )
and it seems some one does a 1:48 F16 xl   im thinking it would look excellent in RAF grey green for  WW3 / Dr Who
and some one does a 1:48  80` Elco patrol boat, and having seen Black Lagoon now id like one of them as well though im not too certain which of the 2 kits id want to get.

Im happy to get my hands on both the small and large Space 1999 eagles from mpc, and that some ones released more modern Cheiftains,  Marksman AAA, and wile its still fighting me the Conqueror.

im still wanting 1:35 rapier and tracked rapier  at a nice price,  1:48 BAe SABA ( the small pusher prop they looked at in the 80s) and an injection BAe P.1216 would be nice as well ( ive got a Eurofighter typhoon to chop and putty into one but that's still on the to do list)

I suppose some of my Holy Grail kits would be the 1/700 Jim Shirley Productions resin kits of the USS Midway and USS Oriskany as prime examples of cold war USN fleet carriers. Whilst both have been done in odd scales by Revell in their hay day, neither have ever been released in the mainstream 1/700 scale, especially as plastic kits. Annoying really as we have multiple wartime and immediate post war Essex kits, but none of the Angled deck versions.
Considering Midway and a couple of the Angled Deck Essex are now floating museums we still don't have a mainstream kit, whilst we have multiple versions of the likes of the Graf Zeppelin or the Taiho  .

There are rumours that the Midway is about to be issued in resin by Orange Hobby but that could be expensive as the small Victorious is £100+ for the standard kits and £130 for the full airgroup, so a Midway could be in the £150 -£200 mark or more if they did a full airwing for her!!!

Current object of my desire is a Hasegawa Mitsubishi Mu-2J in the early boxing with the cool box art and interesting fonts.
I've got an Mu-2S but would like the longer J to accompany it.

The Arii 1/800 USS Midway is actually ca 1/740 and thus will work together with a 1/720 fleet of carriers, and even 1/700 escorts. That said - it took me a year and a half to find mine..
