Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Here we go,  I have started one for this GB.
I got the kit (Heller He-112) in the kit-swap at SMW, just because I had built one many years ago (it was in Spanish Civil war markings, RW) and had no idea what I was going to do with it.
Then just two days ago it came to me that it could be done for this group build. So the last two days have been a little bit frantic.
I wanted to do it as Adolf Galland's aircraft at that time and there is a set of markings available from Techmod. Unfortunately the sheet costs £4.70 at Hannants and their minimum order is £4.98.  :banghead:
Change of plans. What does the Airfix Me 109E offer in the way of markings? Well the basic kit, and the starer set both offer markings that would be suitable. So off to the local shop that sells models to see what they had this morning (it would be over generous to call it a proper model shop, even though that is all it sells. The owner is very much Armour and train orientated, and as far as paints go as long as you want Vallejo, and not the full range at that, you might be OK).
They only had the starter set, but that will do, heck it even gives the correct colours in those little pots of Acrylics.
As well as using the Airfix markings I will be using some of the bits from the kit.
