The creation of this model would alter the time-line somewhat. An entry into service with the Royal Navy in the early '70s suits me, but I could see a push to develop a turboprop version earlier than 1987 ?

?

With Tynes? That should give it some go....
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Nice Idea!  ;D :o Unfortunately though as I'm not a 'chop and change' maestro as others are on here, it'll only have the kit supplied turboprops, so although there might have been an earlier Cormorant with Tynes. this one will have Pratt & Whitney Canada's

Sounds good, you do realise that as a fixed wing aircraft you could go with a different scheme to the Sea King such as the Jetstreams carried but with the Dayglo  extremities ?

Cormorant sounds good, and like you say, nobody could predict that they'd steal your name 30 years later ! The prelim sketch looks good.

Great progress! I'm really excited for this build.

If you want a Canadian geographical name that is alliterative, how about Comox? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comox,_British_Columbia

....now I need to find a 215 and do a Canadair Comox myself!

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
