Straight across in the middle and then add the normal tailplanes outboard?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I think that would be the best course. Each fuselage having their own seems funny, but I want to keep that Spit look.

Cheers !

Also a good start on the twin-Spit. Not sure about the tail feathers....original on both ? Straight across like the P-82 ? Straight across and then the originals ? Love Spifire tails and don't want to lose their look !

I would go like this Todd, but I've also added leading edge radiators right across the center section and a bit at each wing root on the outer wings, worked out to be the same area as four regular radiator openings

but then that's just my opinion

If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

From an engineering PoV I feel both tails should always be joined on this sort of aircraft in order to reduce twisting forces on the wing centre section.
And from an aesthetic PoV I feel that you need to retain the stabilisers outboard of the fins so it still looks like a spitfire at the back.

Anyone thought of building a twin with one Hurricane fuselage and one Spitfire?

Fred

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Both Mitchell and Camm would be horrified!  :o

It'd be a pain to get to fly straight in the RW I bet.

I really want to leave the tails as is, just looks so Spitfire. But I know I should joining them. Must be a compromise out there....maybe a thinner center section to join them but keep the look.

Still plugging away at the rest of them. Almost cut the nose off the D.520 last night as well, but backed off looking at the pencil drawings by the boy. Maybe I'll cut it off anyway and just leave the underside as is !

Pics later.

Single engine Bf.110 so far. Or Bf.55 if you will

The D.520 with new markings ;-)

So...I sat down to watch the Jays game and start hacking away at that Dewoitine, grabbed my razor saw and started cutting where I had decided last night, using the exhaust stubs as a reference. hacked the nose off, and lo and behold, I was one exhaust stub farther back than I had meant to be. Glued the nose back on and I'll hack it off in the correct spot later..... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Cuuuuuuuute!

I like the look of the Bf110 - perhaps a recon machine, with those wings? Or a German analogue for the Battle?

What he said - cuteness overload...
"You weren't really intending to use that lap, were you, Dad? It just looks so lonely and bare without a Kitty on it..."

Either that, or "You've forgotten to fill the food bowl again... don't make me deploy the grappling hooks of owwieness..."

;D ;D

Love your idea with spitfire and Bf-110  single engine bf-110 for fast bomber or recon ?
