Could compromise on the camo and go with Helmut Wick's scheme....very mottled if I remember correctly and rather attractive.

I have a plan based on Galland's 109 with the upper surface splinter pattern replaced by smoke rings.

Which is why I said Pre-Production model and not prototype. 
However, i've cut down the air intake as it looked suspiciously like a tropical filter which wouldn't be needed over the Channel.

Yup......Wick shoots a spitfire down.....is the clobbered by another spitfire who is then clobbered by Wick's wing man Rudi Pflanz......Wick bails out with a good 'chute but he was never seen again. An order arrived after he took on this mission to stop him from flying as he was deemed to valuable......

Primed this yesterday and then slapped on some filler today.
I checked my paints and I have the colours (Mr Colour acrylics) I need to do the scheme I want - RLM 02 over RLM 65 with an RLM 04 nose.  Mottles of RLM 02 on the sides and green smoke rings on the top sides.

I haven't painted anything in WW2 German colours for about 30 years so i'll be making it up as I go.
But OK.  I'll document it with dodgy phone pictures as I go.
