Okay, I'm in! Recently started on a real world build of the old Frog/Revel Skua, just figured it would be a quick way of getting out of the doldrums. Write-up is here: http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,37918.msg700939.html#msg700939

But then Captain Canada brought this GB to my attention, and I decided to have a go. The write-up linked above gives insight into the idea, pictures should come soon.

Okay, first pic. Which really tells you nothing other than this is a far as I got before having the GB brought to my attention. (Sorry, been a little brain-cramped lately).

Are you going to replace the engine? IIRC the Skua was under powered.
Looking forward to this one!

Might be rethinking the whole thing, because it's already been done by our very own kitbasher.  :banghead: Well, there are always rockets...

Which would make it a Merlin engined Roc.  ;)

Nice. But I'd (personally) get rid of the turret if this is to be a torpedo bomber; a single machine gun backwards should suffice? Neat idea, anyway!

You're thinking of the Roc, the Skua had what you describe; a single rear MG. But there was much commonality of structure, especially copious quantities of ugly.  ;D

I have the same model and there is an interesting note I found in the Revell box:

The last sentence could be a good inspiration!

Merlin C engined turret dive-bomber to Spec. A.39/34, predates Skua and Roc.
The aircraft built to A.39/34 were the Bristol 148 and Westland Lysander.

BTW both Skua and Roc had excellent dive-bombing characteristics, not surprising as they were
directly related and the Skua had been designed with dive-bombiing as one of its roles.
