How about making something that Would a Modeller to do Paint and Decal with with like a Magnifying Glass and a Rotating Stand and LED light for Working on Whifs? think that might work for You? Dan

I think I know what you mean now  I'm loving all of these ideas guys, knew you'd get the creative juices flowing  and thanks Zenrat, I'm building either an eyeball ROV or an add on package that can be sold along side, which I'm thinking should include a manipulator, metal detector, vacuum or maybe a HD camera or something, should keep my interest either way

Brilliant, thanks for that Zenrat  And funnily enough, Weaver,  I have already drawn that up as an idea, but I wasn't sure if it was just me that couldn't find a clamp like that  I'll move it higher up my priorities list now

Taking the "disabled" person clamp idea;

What about a combination slide-&-screw flexible angle (for odd-shaped/tapering parts) clamp?

You have a fixed end with a bar out to one side along which another section slides, on that section is a screw-clamp base with which to fine-adjust the grip.

You could have a system where the fixed bar is "T" shaped to support the parts.

Furthermore, you could even have an adjustable-seperation twin unit for larger odd-shaped/tapering parts, with a second bar between the clamps, one of which can be moved along the bar to adjust the distance between them.

I would suggest that these be bench/table-top mountable units.

Think about it... Your one-armed modeller sizes his part against the clamps - moves the clamps to the correct distance apart - places the model on the T-bars - slides 1st one, then the other clamp unit together to hold the model - then adjusts the grip with the screw-clamp fitting.

Just an idea.
