The "V Bomber" on Keigthley stand was by Eddy and has been found a good home in a museum as it was a proposed variant of the old bat.

Really? What was the advantage of the two tail fins?

That's one big show.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

That's one big show.

Understatement of the week there  ;D ;D

the show is huge, theres no two ways about it. It was interesting seeing the reaction of my old Lakenheath mate as we entered the halls after meeting up in the entrance hall. It was his first time at SMW and it was just one big WOW. He realised very quickly just how much damage to his bank balance could happen, if he had the room to pack even a tenth of what he would have loved to buy.

Most of the Brits on here who were there are now veterans of SMW, so its nothing new to us. Hence why we dont make that much of the size of the show.
It takes the presence of an SMW newbie to remind us just what we have going for us here in the UK.

Only 12 months to go for SMW 2016. You can start panicking on January 1st lol

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

What do you mean January 1st, considering how long it took for the Aldershot I need to get building NOW !!!!  :banghead:

You guys make me jealous. :( I'd love to go to a big show like that, or something similar here in the States such as the IPMS Nationals. But money and transportation issues prevent me from doing such things, especially the money part.  :banghead: Closest large show I might be able to attend is this one:

Anybody else planning to go to this?
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Nick

Just to say thanks to everybody for putting up with me and this horrible cold/cough I've had the last week. It was good to see so many of you at Telford and have such a laugh.

On Monday I went to Cosford to see the Preservation Centre and bumped into Mike McEvoy there along with several other familiar faces from the show!

The Do17 is finally out of the greenhouse where she was being sprayed with anti-corrosion mix and is now in the centre where they are doing some restoration/preservation work. For 'control purposes' they have an engine from a Tempest that crashed near Portland and was also underwater for 60 years. By testing on this common wreckage they can gauge what to do with the rare Dornier parts.
