Yes, my entry for the BoB build will be a Spitfire. :o
And this is what I've got so far:

Complete with BoB reference book for early Spitfire's ;D

Back story? Camouflage? Markings? Well I think it'll be RAF 'cos that's what I've got.
Based in the Channel isles? Norwegian campaign? For the Air defense of the Orkneys?
No idea ;D

Keith
The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

Captain Canada

Nice one. Going to look great on floats !

Nice idea, I have considered a Spitfire Mk. I on floats, too. Idea is not dead yet, but I think the backstrory I am cooking up for it won't justify a Spitfire, rather something more old-school. But direction goes into yours, too... Anyway, curious what becomes of this one. BTW, where do the floats come from? An Ar 196?

Well spotted Dizzy  they do indeed come from an Ar 196 (ye olde Airfix) which of course
Means I've got an Ar 196 looking for some land legs ;D

Spats! Would make a nice BoB dive bomber... ;)
I actually consider a Blackburn Skua (instead of a Roc, as tested in real life) on floats as #10 for the GB, probably from a Heller Ar 196.

NARSES2

I have an Arado which is donating its floats to another project and that will become a dive bomber, with spats  Both in my alt. Austro-Hungarian scenario

Small update, No pics
PSR is underway with everything assembled except the floats to the Aircraft.
I'm expecting huge difficulty with them!
A Mustang is also underway
Various Xtracolour paints have been sorted/found for the Spitfires Camouflage.
And I have a top Whatif Modellers tip for you...
If your going to build a Spitfire on floats, some of the PSR WILL be easier if
you fill in the Undercarriage holes before adding the Radiator and Oil cooler to the wings :banghead:

That does look good, the Ar196 floats suit it very well indeed.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

The Wooksta!

1940 RN colours would be best - Sky grey, Extra Dark Sea Grey and Dark Slate Grey - for the Norwegian campaign.

I know it wouldn't fit in the GB but all I can think looking at that is paint it in 1931 Schneider Trophy colours.

It looks great.  Much better than the actual Spit floatplane.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?
