Shouldn't they be Sky codes if it's in the BoB period?

Yup. But there were exceptions, of course...

Sky as underside cammo tone came gradually up in mid 1940, and for the codes it took until 1941 (IIRC), together with the new fighter camouflage in Dark Green/Ocean Grey/Medium Sea Grey.

Is it ever looking British now....that is going to be a stunner !

Looking good so far, of course you could throw in a curve ball and do it as a FAA fighter just add an Arrestor Hook and have it pressed into Air Defence duties over the South of England  ;)

Ah, no. It's actually pretty small, looks like a sinewy Spitfire! A Hurricane is a true hulk next to it.

A Hurricane's a hulk next to almost any WWII fighter, except possibly a P-47, or it's own successor, the Typhoon.  ;D

Looking outstanding.

Question on your wash. Do you wipe down after application or let the excess air dry/evaporate?
It takes only one drink to get me drunk. The trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or the fourteenth.

A good question, Jason, I'm curious as well.

I let the wash dry and settle, and then wipe it gradually off with a soft, wet piece of cloth.

Dizzy, take off the long intake on the starboard side.  That's the intake for the cabin blower for the high altitude mk VI - I'm assuming you've taken the engine off an AZ mk V kit which has it on all of them, irrespective of the mk no on the box, and telles you to remove it.

Not that uncommon a mistake to make.  Many people leave the blower on on the Fujimi Griffon Spits when it's only applicable to the mk XIX.  A quick repaint with slightly another shade of brown - or a clean one - would make it look like a replacement panel and thus more character.

Thank you. Yes, I am/was aware that the small intake belongs to the high altitude Merlins. I thought it was a nice bump on the otherwise relatively clean aircraft, but I understand your point and appreciate the suggestion with the repair detail. Hmmm...

Beyond that, the letter decals are still in the pipeline, so work is on halt - and work on "something different" started.
