What to do with......

After my totally unexpected success at Telford in winning one of the Frieghtdog Prizes, thank you again Colin and Mike , I'm trying to figure out what to do with the cornucopia of parts that I've received. Part of the deal is that they should be used on one or more models to appear at the 2016 Show so there's a fair amount of building going to be needed.

The parts list is :-

1] Swift F2/F4 conversion kit
2] Genie missiles and pylons for the Lightning
3] Hunter P.1130 conversion (A T7 with a big bore engine and Firestreaks)
4] Canberra all-weather fighter conversion (Red Deans, rocket motor and BIG radome)

While it's probably possible to install all of them on one airframe  ;D it'd have to be a] pretty large and b] end up looking pretty ugly too, so I'm looking for other ideas. I've rejected hanging the MONSTER Red Deans on a Scorpion, although I did toy with fitting the Scorpion's wings to a Javelin and using the Red Deans on that. (Hmmmm, how about swapping the Javelin's wings onto the Scorpion too?)

I've also thought about putting some of the Swift bits onto an Attacker, which would make an 'in service' 510 or similar, and hanging the Firestreaks on it too. It occurs to me that I may have a Maintrack 510 vacform already but WTH.....

Any and all other ideas are welcome, if only so I can add to my horrendous backlog of unfinished models in build.

You could put the Genie missiles, Hunter conversion and probably the Canberra conversion on a Hunter. I don't know if the Hunter's nose is big enough, but you can always do a Tomcat fairing-in job where the nose is larger than the rest of the airframe

Thorvic

Well you cold put the Canberra interceptor conversion on an RB-57 as a big wing high altitude interceptor.

The Hunter P1030 conversion can only really go on a T7 Hunter but you could swap the firestreak with Genie

You could put the Red Deans on an F-102 or F-106 as an Interceptor with a bigger kick, i know Forbat had a drawing of Red Dean in the Arrow weapons bay

Congrats on the win!
I like the Canberra conversion on an RB-57. Put all the missiles on it!

Hmmm....

The Swift set only includes new upper wings, so you've pretty much got to use them on an Airfix Swift. The simplest thing to do there would be to export it to some other hapless air force. Alternatively, since the F.2/F.4 set includes the four cannon pack and the Swift performed best at low altitude, why not do one as a ground attack prototype, with rockets and/or bombs on various hardpoints?

Again, the P.1130 set can only really be used to make a Hunter night-fighter, so export it to another air force, maybe one that can't afford the Javelin/F102/Vautour as a cheaper alternative. Maybe replace the Firestreaks with Sidewinders or Falcons.

Lastly, build a Canberra night-fighter as per the set, then add the Genies to it on the underwing pylons, or maybe in the bomb bay.

Don't know about the Swift but as the Hunter and the Canberra are both night fighters then a Mistel would appear to be in order.

Hmmm, interesting............  ;D

Could the Hunter have its Firestreaks, Red Deans or Genies mounted 'Shrage Musik' fashion pointing up and forwards perhaps?  ;)

I never knew that. Always thought the Hunter was a day fighter and the Canberra was a bomber.

Not exactly. With the Freightdog conversions they were both intended to be 'all weather fighters', thus the big radomes and even bigger missiles!

I'd suggest donating them to that well known charity, Kitbashers In Need, but I've already got them!

I've the Swift F7 set and will be converting a Pegasus FR5 to a real world F4 - Mike Lithgow's WK198 that I remember scrambling around/over in the famous Failsworth scrapyard as a kid.
P.12 I've had on the go at a glacial pace for a while.  You could do one of those and pop Red Dean AND Genies onto it?
P1030 got the bits.  You could alway scab a Hunter T7 nose onto a Swift FR5 but make the radome less pointy and more like a Swift F7s.
And I got some Genies from Another Source earlier in the year - will eventually get slapped onto an F3 I think.

Does the F7 come with the Fireflashes Dave? I've always liked the look of the Fireflash, it's so bizarre you can't imagine how anyone came up with the idea.  ;D But I think the F7 was the only aircraft that carried them, wasn't it?

Yes, the F7 does come with Fireflashes.

I'd add 1083 wings to the 1130 and make her a real goer.

I picked up a Canberra P.12 conversion in the kitswap for the princely sum of £2.  Toying with adding it to a Matchbox PR9 that's started and have her as a high altitude interceptor.  Stooge around at high level then a shallow dive to intercept.

Swift? In service F2 with 74 Sqn as they were slated to get them or add bombs/matra SNEB pods to the F4 and do it as an FB4.
