With GeekFest almost upon us, I have decided it is time to get some sort of costume together. With that in mind, I have started to build a Blaster Carbine from certain things.

Seen here:
A toy water pistol which happens to be revolver shaped AND an excellent size. Perfect.
Some PVC pipe (which was being used in another project at one point, hence the holes)
Various and sundry bits and pieces.

I have started work by cutting the PVC pipe down a bit and making some notches in it so it fits over the water pistol barrels tightly. I've also begun work on a scope. I'm planning to add a stock made from MDF. There will be more photos in the fullness of time.

Looking forward to it , I have been collecting bits to build one myself just need a certain brand of whipper snipper to appear on a roadside junk pile and its on , I have also seen some nice modified NERF guns that paint up nicely

This morning I went shopping and returned with some self-tapping screws, various cosplay ephemera, and some windshield wipers.
The screws have been used to attach a foam fore-grip thing to the carbine's barrel, and the wiper blades will be used to make cooling fins. I have also now attached the scope, made from hose and PVC parts, although it needs some more detailing yet.

I have also aquired some MDF to make the stock from.

Looking good! Just my $0.02 but cut off or cover up the hammer. No need for it on a blaster!

Perhaps it's a thumb rest..............  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Actually, Blaster Carbines DO have hammers, although no one knows why. I've got a theory it's either for cocking the gun, or some sort of saftey catch thing. Serious Warsies who spend all day on Wookiepedia probably know better. If you look at the pics, they've all got them (mostly because Boba Fett's gun was made from a flare gun, which, of course, had a hammer, and the armorers did not remove it.)
The stock has been shaped from MDF and installed. I am currently working on padding it and installing the cooling fins. While the glue is drying, I have also started working on a respirator as part of my bounty hunter costume.

Okay so we know your cat's calibrated, but now this begs the question, what calibre is it?

I'm betting on 7.92mm Mouser....

There have been some bad ones this year, but...........  :banghead: :banghead: ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

In my defence, I left the other obvious one for somebody else.... ;D

I have the stock installed and padded. The scope still needs some detailing and the wiper blade hat sink fins are not on yet. These shall be added this morning, and I should be able to paint this after noon.

I need to go op-shopping to get a blanket I can use as a poncho, but the respirator is coming along nicely, and I've gotten basically everything else I need to complete the build.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Construction is now complete. On to the painting. I am visiting my esteemed flute riddled opponent for some hobby-age tonight, probably be painting Dwarves, but I'll try to get in some work on this.
