The trio of Leo Marriott Royal Navy books are quite handy as they cover each class since 1945, give the data for the class and details of each ship plus a nice selection of Photo's and drawings. It also covers a few of the cancelled projects and the commonwealth versions of certain classes. I found them invaluable back in the 80's when they came out and I was doing Ship Modelling, it was the CVA-01 drawing in the Aircraft Carrier volume that got me hooked on the type, together with the Chesneau's Aircraft Carriers of the World

I can see another book purchase in my future

.......he has included a hand written note and a photograph of the first Rotodyne that he flew in.

That'd be the ONLY Rotodyne, they only built one.

It's a cracking book though.

"Kolymsky Heights" by Davidson...the hype is right...one of the best and most intelligent Cold Warish thrillers I've read.

Just finished (for the third time) "Schopenhauer's Telescope" by Donovan...keeps you guessing to the end...could explain it but that would be a spoiler...give it a try. Superb .

Putnam 1990.

Blimey, I've got a model of that Bearcat lurking over my shoulder as I write this.  :o

I didn't realise there was a whole book on them though.

Picked up the Aerofax booklet on the CH-47 Chinook by Jay Miller, I was hoping to see if it covered the proposed British Gnome powered versions on the early-mid 60s but only covers the actual late 70s buy and the two earlier attempts in the late 60's and early 70's for off the shelf aircraft which is a tad disappointing :-\

Popped some clothes into the local charity shop and saw and picked up "Third Axis: Fourth Ally"  Romanian Armed Forces in WWII. In very good nick (looks new) it's got some interesting chapters on indigenous equipment as well as the history.

Now THAT is a superb book...used to sell for silly money before the internet really took off. Good find .

Just finished one of the books I recently bought, only another ten to go

I can recommend Dragons Wings by Andreas Rupprecht. I think I got an older copy of the book as Amazon now show the book was Tony Butler as being associated with the book as well. Probably helped out with the language and syntax as that left a bit to be desired at times in my copy.

Lots of interesting projected designs that people could get their teeth into, the fact that a lot of what has gone on in China as far as their aircraft go is not known about helps with the whiff potential.

Anyway, here is a link to the book on Amazon for anyone that's interested http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dragons-Wings-Andreas-Rupprecht/dp/1906537364/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1456838248&sr=1-2&keywords=Dragons+Wings

If there is a proper section for book reconsiderations I apologize for not putting this entry there, I simply could not find anywhere else for this to go.

Off to the dentist in Hereford today, and walking back past a charity shop, found "A Sailor's Odyssey", the autobiography of Admiral Andrew Cunningham  AND a modern translation of the Anglo Saxon Chronicle.  Madame bought  two more gardening books (well, she has got a botany degree and is prepared to offer horticultural advice ----temperate northern hemisphere----if anyone wishes) All for about a tenth of the new price!!
