Thwere is also Invasion by Macksey Kenneth that could be considered a prequel.
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Bought in 2015, but started reading it today: One more river to cross - The story of british military bridging, by J.H. Joiner, 460 pages of engineer equipment. ;D
At the same time, also reading: The devil's chariots - development of british tanks before and (I suppose, I am still in 1912 at half book) during WW1.

EDIT: OOPS, sorry, I was already sleepy. I am in late 1915, but the proposals are so far-fetched : big wheels and 100-tons articulated pedrails, that seemed earlier.

A bookshop near work has copies of Vickers Guided Weapons for £4.99. I think the author was one of the designers for Vickers. Is it worth getting? Anyone else want a copy?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Secret-World-Vickers-Guided-Weapons-John-Forbat/dp/0752453165  but much cheaper.

Very interesting read.  Well worth getting at that price.  The author  worked IIRC on the Red Dean and Vigilant systems.

Picked up the recent Su-24 Fencer book by Yefim Gordon in the Midland Russian Aircraft Series off Amazon, I already had the Red Star smaller volume but as I noticed the other books in the series are out of print and 2nd hand copies are valued in the 100's I thought I had best pick it up whilst affordable.

Will be a handy reference for the new trumpeter 1/72 Su-24M due out this spring.

I've got that too, excellent book and brings back a lot of Farnborough memories.

Interesting snippet from said publication. One of the engines from the Saunders-Roe SR1/A1 prototype was latter used to power Donald Campbell's ill fated Bluebird. The footage of that crash will forever be one of my clearest childhood memories

A terrible day, that.

The SRA/1's engine used in Bluebird was a Metrovick Beryl ( ;D) but he swapped it for an ex-RAF Gnat Orpheus before that fatal run.

Unfortunately the 2015 thread is locked...but, thinking back, this may have been in 2016.....

Winged Victory by WM Yeates, about the Great War in the air
Fighter Pilot, the companion book to the 1980s BBC series
for the grand total of $1.50 at the local hospice shop

And now I'm on the slippery slope of collecting Star Wars novels, I bought Aftermath by Chuck Wendig (set after Return Of The Jedi, the first new official novel) and my mum got me Knight Errant, one of the older "Expanded Universe" books.

From the Bargain Bookshop at Waterloo

Vickers Guided Weapons as mentioned previously.

Flight By Elephant which is not about airborne pachyderms   but how a former Royal Flying Corps pilot rounded up a herd of elephants to help refugees escape the Japanese advance on Burma. Some very sad details in there but it looks to be an enthralling read.
