My stash increase at Telford. All 1/72

Hasegawa XF5U-1 Flying Pancake via Jaybee

Airfix Pe 2 via Kitbasher - thinking Imperial Mongolian Naval Airforce. I must see the Dr about my current medication  :o

Special Hobby Barracuda, the new tool

Eduard Spitfire XVIe high back and low back overtrees. You just get the injection sprues, nothing else, at a bloody good price. Thanks Lee for pointing these out.

Airfix B17, the new tool. I wasn't going to get this at Telford as it's a big box. However one of the traders was knocking it out at £24.50. So saving almost £6 was worth the cart home  Looks very nice

RS Magister. The 1940 invasion scare emergency bomber boxing. Mine will be fitted with 2 of Freightdog's gas spray canisters which I think were intended for Lysanders but the Maggie bombers might have got them ? Lee suggested I find out what colour the gas detection panels went when exposed to gas and paint them in that  ;)

AZ Me 109H. The boxing with the option of the Lufwaffe pilot who despite 5 "kills" was not an ace as 3 of them were his own aircraft lost on take off or landing  ;D Had a nice little chat with Mr AZ about this. This is currently residing in Co Durham until next year  :banghead:

2 AZ MB 5's with the free transfer sheet. No use to me so Martin is having one. The plan is one in the high altitude scheme and another in SEAC colours. I need at least one other for one of the RAAF schemes in Profiles on site and given the sprues contain 3 separate tail fins - prototype, proposed RAF and proposed FAA with hook - I now need to do a FAA one.

On top of this a couple of kits for Hank

Picked up off eBay a Special Hobby 1/72nd Supermarine Sea Otter as one of the types my dad worked on

The Wooksta!

I've finally unpacked the MASSIVE box that the bulk of my purchases came home in. This was obtained in the kit swap.  Everything was doubled and tripled in boxes to get it all in (six Airfix Spitfires were desprued to get them into 3 others and two other boxes were ditched), with my tesselation skills being worked to the max.

I'm not going to list everything, largely as it's the stuff I usually buy - a large quantity* of Spitfires and associated Plan items, along with other post war RAF fighters such has the Vampire, Tempest and Hornet - so here are some of the oddities:

High Planes Beaufighter II x3.  One of which has the turret option.
AZ Martin Baker MB5 (also picked up a Pegasus and Falcon example, the latter being a vacform)
AZ Gloster Gauntlet
Aeroclub Hawker Hector x 2
Airfix Fairey Battle (thinking radial here)
Airfix Defiant I (new tool)
Airfix Vickers Valiant B1 - this will be the B2 when I get the AIMs conversion.
Czech Omega Percival Mew Gull
Sign Westland Hill Terrodactyl (just had to have it
Elliott Shackleton MR1 (vacform, but I only want the fuselage to convert the Airfix kit.)
Merlin Martin Baker MB2 (despite the manufacturer's dismal reputation, this is one of the least worst kits.  Certainly workable)
Rareplanes Venom FB4 - the same bag had an Aeroclub example.

Plus the oddball Anime spaceship that's going to be a Terran Federation battlecruiser (the Repulse) from Blake's 7 that I mentioned earlier.

Thanks got to Colin, Dave, Harold, Chris and Alistair for the pre-sale purchases and hostage swaps.

*If I really must, I'll list them, but that would be boasting/admission of guilt/declaration of insanity (delete as applicable).  Suffice it to say, Eduard took a decent chunk of my spending power.  AZ didn't, because they were hiking their prices above UK RRP and I'm not rewarding that sort of behaviour.

The Wooksta!

The same seller as the Venom (kitswap trophy) was also selling an Aeropoxy Gnat (with an Aeroclub eexample in it) for £2 and an Aeroclub Varsity for £4.  That went to Trevor, whilst the Gnat went to Gary and he grumbled.  Last time I pick up owt for him.

I forgot to mention the Airways Firefly AS7 vacform kit, plus a pair of Novo Fireflies.  One of which came from Colin and will be used as a donor kit for the Airways example (wings), engine for a Fairey Battle project and the u/c will go towards rebuilding a stalled Pegasus MB5.

Nick

I only bought two kits this year which were effectively paid for by my Kitswap sales.

HobbyBoss F-16D
Hasegawa Kawasaki T-4 jet trainer.
Roll of 10mm Tamiya masking tape.

Picked up a load of old books on Monday and Tuesday while visiting various small towns along the Welsh borders. Found a model shop and a train shop in Knighton.

Was good to see everyone, I had a great time overall!

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Captain Canada

FINALLY I found the new Airfix BE2!  And for a reasonable price. I love seeing them fly at Masterton so it'll probably be one of those.

The F-14 and F-15 are going to be fairly straightforward whifs that won't take much time or extra effort...;)

TSRJoe brought me an S&M 1/72 Bristol Sycamore

In the post from eBay in Japan I got a 1/700 Hasegawa DDH JMSDF DDH Izumo (Destroyer my arse its a light/medium Helo Carrier !!).

This is going to be a Whiff of a Light/Medium carrier circa late 70s for the RN where the proposals for a smaller cheaper carrier are approved and something akin to an enlarged Invincible results. Will be modifying the Izumo with an angled deck and will use a cut Down Invincible superstructure to do the Island.

Popped out to get a couple of paints earlier from Hobbycraft and had a quick look in TK Maxx as I heard they were doing kits again.

Came out with this..... Airfix 1/48 Red Arrows Gnat and Hawk for only £12.99. Bargain.
