Captain Canada

I forgot to post that I had received a Supermarine Swift in the post via Gondor. Thank you Sir ! Very thoughtful. Happy to see such a cool aeroplane for the first time, and such a lovely kit. Mostly built already.

Today arrived some armour additions to the Honduras army, in the shape of a pair of 1/72nd scale Weisel 1 MK 20's. This is the S model 2 in a box kit, and is a quick build. They are quite good detail wise, and the only quick build I can see about them is the tracks and wheels as they are moulded as one. To me a good thing as they are quite tiny. Both are identical, with a 20 mm cannon in the turret, but one might get armed differently to the other. I just need a big enough transport helicopter for them to be transported inside, and slap some Honduras markings on it. I may just steal either a CH-47 or CH-53 off the U.S Marines for that purpose.
Chris

What about a Mi26 Halo.....?  Get loads in the back of that.......or under it........
Now there's a thought, I could probably fit 6 of the things in one of those, and I have the Zvesda one in the stash . Maybe it could be something the Honduras army, relinquished from the Cartel on a raid, much like a current build I am doing.
Today arrived my much anticipated acquisition from the Ukraine, my Modelsvit BBA-14 has arrived, and I am liking it. Very different and has lots of wiff potential. Just wondering where I am going to put the KH-59's on it now

From Clearly Scale in Canada,  a second (due to some confusion with his mail forwarders) 1/24 resin 6.4 litre Supercharged Hemi with T56 manual gearbox.

Its a gorgeous bit of casting.

Droooool, that looks SUPERB Fred. What plans have you got for it?

Which car uses/used the T56 box?

According to Wikipedia the Tremec (nee Borg Warner) T56 was developed for the Dodge Viper but then went on to be used in other vehicles including the Holden Monaro, Ford Falcon XR8 & Aston Martin V12 Vanquish.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borg-Warner_T-56_transmission

I bought it because I needed a six speed manual to mate to an 800ci "mountain motor" for this years scale Cannonball Run.
My workshop is currently machining unobtanium gear sets for the transfer case and the diffs.
The vehicle in question will be a 4wd (this years route is Darwin to Adelaide and includes unsealed road sections) Buick Grand National based ute built using a cut down 1/24 Monogram body, Ross Gibson resin engine and scratchbuilt chassis &  independent suspension.

The engine itself will then be spare but I have a number of other transmissions in my parts boxes plus a selection of Mopar kits what would benefit from a more modern engine.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Ahah, the Monaro was where I'd heard of it before I think.

That's going to be an awesome build, looking forward to it.

Gondor

This morning I picked up from Argos another ebay win

1 x 1/72 Matchbox Phantom (for spares) the advert said. Pretty sure that 99% of the kit is there and what is missing would be replaced anyway. Decals and the instructions are the main things gone, but I am not worried about them at all as I have another Matchbox Phantom for the instructions and the decals are not a problem at all. Not sure if I will do the swing wing version of the fuselage/wing stretch version yet.

I was looking at a line drawing of that Phantom yesterday, would be nice to see that built...

And today, monthly visit to the LHS... it happened again, went in to buy colors and masking tape and also brought along a Revell 1/72 Rafale M...

Crewe was my first show this year.

Found a pair of under table bargins.
Matchbox Hp Victor for less that 15 quid.
Italeri F-15E strike eagle.

And located by a joint effort of Weaver and Army of one.
Old tool airfix Lightning F3 with lots of Aeroclub white metel extras. For less than a fiver.
