So I received the five kits from Chris (Narses2) on Saturday - not sure what I'm going to do with them, but very nice they are anyway - thanks Chris  ;D

Went to the Midland Model Expo on Sunday and obtained an Airfix Sea Hawk (because I like Sea Hawks!) and at a very reasonable price, an Armstrong Whitworth AW.681 - very VERY nice  ;D ;D

And on the Home Bargains front, I visited the one in Bentley Bridge (Wolverhampton - visiting my daughter) which had nothing and my most local (Swadlincote) which had 1/32nd British Infantry and those lovely fountains. I might have to return to my other local store to obtain more late model Spitfires and Typhoons potentially
Oh to be whiffing again :-(

A 1:72 Mistercraft P-51B (in Swedish colors). It's actually a re-boxed InTech kit - earmarked as donor kit for a planned Saab J23 build/kitbash.

The kit looks better than expected. I thought at first that it was a copy of the Airfix kit, but the InTech kit differs in some details (e. g. a propeller with four separate blades) and has recessed panel lines. These are a bit rough, much like those on the new Airfix kits, but with some paint these should fill up nicely. Positive surprise, and dirty cheap, too.

Received an ebay purchase of

1 x 1/72 Lone Wulf Models Doppelreiter Fuel Tanks for one of the two Airfix Fw-190 A-8's that I have in my stash

From the Big H following the news sheet on clearing some Ship stock from a closed shop I managed to snag the Orange Hobby 1/700 HMS Victorious with Airgroup. Not cheap but easier to get than going through Chinese suppliers.

Pretty awesome resin kit with full Photo Etch sheets, turned brass and the full Airgroup from 1966 including Aircraft decals. Won't be built anytime soon but a must have for the collection

It's my birthday on Monday so my father-in-law took me to the LHS and asked if there was anything I wanted. I got me an Academy 1/72 B-29A Superfort! It wasn't until we left the store that I realised today is August 6...and the aircraft on the boxart is Enola Gay. Eerie stuff!

Also I turn 29 on Monday....note the aircraft type!  :o

That kit should have the decals for Both 'Enola Gay' and 'Bocks Car' it also has the little boy and fat man nuclear bombs on the spues too so you can build it as either aircraft.

Alternately you can get Washington Decals for the RAF post war ones and the I think someone does the decals for the ones used in tests in Australia.

I think there must be two boxings of the kit Geoff, mine has just 'Enola Gay' scheme and only the 'Little Boy' bomb in it.

There is, Academy reissued the kit with both options and that's the one Zac got as seen a pic on FB.

It does indeed have both options, and the decals are spectacular. However those, and the "devices", are likely to join the spares pool (or a small, bomb-centric dio) as I've just ordered decals from Hannants to achieve my long-held dream of owning a model of the Kee Bird.
