My birthday was, as always, on Christmas Eve. Our son got me a present, a model that was at the time certainly NOT available in Europe, and so it came from America. YAY the Internet, BOO the postal system.
It eventually arrived to-day.
It goes very nicely with the earlier version that he gave me a couple of years ago.

Not sure if it's an addition or not, but I discovered a PM Sea Fury I didn't know I had in me Mam's loft yesterday.

Stealing from your mum's stash is not an ethical way to add to your own, Lee! 😉

LOL. Lee's stash is one of those that requires an out station for further storage. Some say mine is heading the same way..................
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

There are places that have it worse, in fact there are places where the other end of your house can be in the next COUNTRY:

Considering where Martin lives that's quite possible, he does live in the Heart of England after all.

Up the road from me 3 Boroughs converge at a roundabout, until a re-shuffle a few years ago it was 4. In the late 60's early 70's when Licencing laws were strict and enforced you could start drinking at 5:30 on one side of the roundabout (the other was 6:00pm) and then at 10:30 when Croydon closed cross the road to Lambeth and drink until 11:00pm

Can you imagine trying to explain licencing laws to today's 20 somethings who have only known all day opening ?

Reminds me of that wonderful scene from "Withnail and I"...waiting for opening time.

And for all the unfortunates who haven't seen this superb film, here's a taster:

Yesterday arrived my first kit purchase in about 3 years, not that I am running out of kits any time soon. I bought myself the Zvesda 1/72nd scale TOPOL  intercontinental ballistic missile/transporter. Very impressed with this kit, lots of bits to it and builds in to a nice, if controversial addition to my Cartel armoured division  Also arrived within a couple of hours of that, a belated christmas present for a very good friend of mine who has helped me back onto my feet. Airfix 1/24th scale BF-109 E-4. Got it in the winter sale for just under 20 quid, so a good discount on it's RRP there. He is well made up with it, as he got my matchbox 1/32 scale spitfire off me too.
