From Bungle's sale:

Monogram 1/72nd Douglas A-1E Skyraider.

Hobby Craft 1/72nd Piasecki H-21 Workhorse. This looks like a nice enough kit in the box, but the real gem in the decal sheet. The instructions give schemes for one US Army, one Canadian rescue and two Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire) air force machines, but the decal sheet appears to have partial markings for at least two more Congo machines, one with a great cartoon mascot, so if I don't use any of them on the H-21, I can do maybe three or four Congo whiffs (armed trainers, COIN types etc..) from it.

Cheers Bungle!

Visited a new (to me) model shop on Friday.  Upon asking how long they'd been open I was told 5 years.
Showcase Models in Melbourne CBD.  Prices are higher than the place I usually go (Metro Hobbies) but they have a much better range of the esoteric, the odd and the short run kits.  In other words the stuff we like.

Showcase are the guys behind the production of this:

And you can buy from them online, too: http://www.showcasemodelsaustralia.com.au/

Do you get the Emu with it?

Oh well done! I've looked at that conversion any number of times but resisted spending the money.

I have an idea for a cheap-as-chips AEW version with Searchwater radar (as per the Sea King AEW) in a dome under the fuselage extension plug.

Yesterday from that there Hong Kong, arrived my Toxomodel Scud B launcher. Quite a basic looking kit from first glance, but it will do. The Honduras armed forces will choking on their MRI's when they find out what the Cartel has got now. Just wait until I give them the Topol SS-25.

''So, what's in the box?'' asked my dearly beloved, this morning.

''Oh! It's from Bungle. A black cat, a sparrowhawk and a wellington'', i replied.

''Ye lot are just weird'', she said marching out the door to work.  ;D

Thank you Bungle, ya weirdo!

I've always wanted to do that to a Sea Dragon or a Jolly Green Giant. There was a proposal for the V-22 Osprey to have it fitted as well!

She has said to me in the past, ''Why cant you be more like 'normal' people?'' As i have pointed out to her, she's the one who decided to stay, for the last sixteen years!

Me being the 'House husband' is a bone of contention. Apparently, ''I'm a social butterfly, who sits around all day, drinking coffee and chatting to me mates!''

Sam's the same...she often wonders about the quality of my online companions ;)

My second-to-last armour kit purchase arrived yesterday: an Airfix 1/76 Bren Gun Carrier w/6pdr gun (to be whiffed as "Bullpup", my Tank Destroyer from the game World Of Tanks) and an Italeri 1/72 Sherman (to be done as one on museum display in NZ).

I also received my replacement clear sprue for the big Mosquito, needed after an accident with ClearFix and a painted internal part.
