Off a stash sae on BM an Airfix 1/72 Bristol 192 Belvedere, off eBay a 1/72 Italeri UH-34 with the heritage HC2 conversion to do an RAF HC2.

I want to know all the details about how you build the Belvedere HC2 conversion as I have one in the stash

That should good as its a Wessex HC2 conversion !, the UH-34 has the smaller cabin windows of the HC2 and Heritage have cloned the Italeri Wessex HU5 parts to allow the RAF HC2 to be built.

Not got the Maintrack Belvedere HC1 conversion, think Kit has one, but can't see anybody else doing it as the donor kit is unlikely to be re-issued again.

However both Whirlybird and Blackbird have mentioned doing a new resin kit of the Belvedere HC1, but don't thin either have progressed.

I have indeed, not sure where though. I'll have a look-see.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Ah, sorry as I mistook which kit the HC 2 conversion was for. Might be a very interesting conversion at that.

The Vampire is teh Heller one - Revell reboxed it at least twice, possibly more.  The Dragon Rapide will be the Heller one too.

Wooksta's latest additions?

On layby with Uncle Frank:
AZ Spitfire IIa "Long Range" - TBH, I just want it for the bulged camera hatch, but likely to build it for the hell of it.  Probably 607 Sqn.

Off Ebay
AZ Spitfire IX "Joypack" - I think this is number nine...

You wont find it Kit. You loaned it to me for attempted (failed) cloning. I keep forgetting to bring it with me to those shows that we both get to.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Dead right OGL.  ;D

I spent maybe 20 mins in The Loft thinking 'Where the devil is it?' and moving stuff around into different places, all to no avail.

Why didn't the cloning work?

Isn't that an Airfix kit?

Even looks like the box art Airfix would use, indeed isn't it ?

Yes, yes it is.

Have a couple of the Airfix boxes with that picture.

Zac, do you know(/care) the turret is undersize? Probably not a problem if it's for Whiff-fodder, but it is an issue if for RW.

And belated, hearty Congratulations from 'South of The Bombays' on your altered status.

Cheers

KiwiZac

As Rick said, it is indeed an Airfix mould repopped by the good folk at MPC.

I've read some very good conversion articles online but, to be honest, I got this only as it's cheap and will be done as a RW gate guard just for fun. And thanks Rick! Twas a magic day!

This arrived today after being won in an auction for the grand total of $10 including postage:

Unlike many, my first exposure to the BD-5 wasn't Octopussy but the 1992 Auckland Air Expo video! Unfortunately this only has the parts for the prop version, but I'm over the moon to finally have one in hand. That being said, I still wasn't prepared for just how tiny the thing is! When I showed her the box Sam said "His head looks a bit swollen!", and then when I got her to open the box there was a pause. "At least you don't have much to do!"

Ooh yes, that LS BD-5 kit is a real beauty! And you get TWO models as well, with different wing lengths, for the prop and jet powered versions.

Having said that, it's a real PITA trying to get a pilot figure in that teeny weeny cockpit. Mine is around 5'3" and must weigh 5 stone I'd imagine, I had to put him on a severe diet to get him in there!  :o

Yes, I had to find some particularly small pilots from the parts bin to fit them in mine. By the way, the Arii boxing gives you four BD-5's, two of each.

Unfortunately this one only has the prop bits as the seller must've built the jet...I have a plan that involves my resin casting kit. I see the Arii quad boxing can be had for cheaper than many 1/48 prop fighters if you know where to look, talk about value for money!

well that depends what you call 'value for money' -------

Bede BD5 compared to a 1/72 C-5 Galaxy  (this just happens to be my ""biggest & smallest"" 1/72 kits pic)

or compared to a 1/72 Spitfire wing, the Bede BD5's are 1/72 too
