Just back from Expo.

From the traders in the big room I got a KP Piper NE1 (1/72 to be zenrat industries), some perfect plastic putty, some liquid gravity and 2 sets of RAAF roundels with kangaroos.  The decals were sold to me under the table as the RAAF who owns the copyright will not allow sets of generic roundels to be sold.  They will only allow "real" sets to build specific RW aircraft and insist on approving the designs before the sheets go up for sale.  So, black market decals!

I think I did OK at the swamp & smell as there is nothing I am looking at any thinking "Why the heck did I buy that?"
I got a 1/48 Monogram Me262 for $10.  Having built one of these ill fitting beasts I think this is overpriced but it will provide a pair of engines for the Skyliner Hovercar and the remains will go in the parts box.
The rest is all 1/72

By Hasegawa;
Republic F105 Thunderchief (moulded in black)
North American F100 Super Sabre
Grumman A6A Intruder
Mitsubishi MU-2S (moulded in yellow and black and to be zenrat industries).

By Airfix;
Short Skyvan (at last! to be zenrat industries)
Heinkel He111 H2D (dirt cheap as it is missing the canopy - for parts)
CAC CA13 Boomerang
Fairey Firefly 5
Armstrong Whitworth Seahawk
FW190 A8 (to become a tail sitter)
DHC Chipmunk (to be zenrat industries)

FROG Hawker Sea Fury

Grip Cessna 172 floatplane (to be zenrat industries)

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

There was talk of the UK gov trying something similar here about 7-8 years ago. Registering all UK military insignia as UK gov owned trademarks.

However it was quietly watered down after a document dated some time in 1914 was unearthed in the national archives. it was pointed out that the UK did not own the copy right or trademark on the roundle and cockade. Said document was the permission from the French government for the UK to use a reversed version of their national insignia. So no prizes for guessing who owns the "rights" to that "trademark"  ;D ;D ;D

Mind you that hasnt stopped the UK gov trademarking certain fonts, logo's and military badges of more recent decent.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
