Dizzyfugu

Directly from Japan: an early 1:6 Asuka Soryu Langley anime character kit (from Neon Genesis Evangelion, as far as I can tell a figure based on early character designs). Not certain if it is a recast, as it comes without a box, but judging the kit's resin color it could be an original. It was reasonably prices, anyway, and is a good basis for a conversion into a fictional character.

Won on eBay;
1/72 Revell Beriev Be-6 Madge
1/72 Academy C-119 Flying Boxcar

NARSES2

From Coventry. Art Model Bearcat. Opinion would seem to indicate this is the Sword tooling, resin looks like it anyway. To be FAA but in EDSG over Sky to go with my overall blue BPF one
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

For the first time in ages I bought a new model kit!  :o

While at the Coventry Show I was persuaded to get an Airfix Swift FR5 together with the book on the same aircraft by Valiant Publications at a special deal price.

Needless to say I have a cunning plan for it, but that may take some years to come to fruition at my present rate of building.....
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Isn't the Roden VC 10 in 1/144 scale not 1/72?  :banghead:

That Roden Super VC10 looks really good, our own Howard of Effingham bought THREE of them at Coventry. He had one each of the K3 tanker, BOAC and East African versions, and they all looked great.

The Wooksta!

Finally... after enduring an half hour wait in the rain and then another ten minute wait for a Metro, which was full to bursting due to delays thus making it slightly less comfortable than an unopened sardine tin, and then a walk round a cold, wet and rainy Gateshead town centre - even more of a dump after development than it was before (it did have some character...) - I got to Home Bargains.  There, awaiting me like a clump of daisies amongst a field of nettles, were the much sought after bargain Airfix kits - 72nd Dauntless, Spitfire PRXIX and F22.

The Spitfires reside there no longer, but have been rescued and now await my cruel attentions - one 19 will become a 21 after some Frankensteinish experiment with the F22 wing, another may end up in Argentinian colours.  We shall see.

In total, I nabbed ten - 6 PR19s and 4 F22s.

And there are another 3 stores within range...

Kinda reminds me of a certain urban legend, ref two gents with tyneside accents strip mining every model shop up and down the east coast main line of Airfix TSR-2's............................................

Yes, that's the one.  Well, all myths have a kernel of truth in them somewhere, the truth bit of that one is me and Gary on a day trip to York and buying a few up.  He did the rest on his own, what with him having free rail travel at the time.

The next episode of the Home Bargains saga could well be tomorrow...
