- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Nice kit but if I was you I would assemble and fit the undercarriage and cockpit as separate units rather one as shown. It will go together as one but is a pain. Not quite so painful as two separate sub units. At least it was for my ham fistedness. Interested to see how you handle it.

There was talk of Redcar, but that may be shelved.

Having had to visit Redcar on numerous occasions whilst working I'd definitely shelve it. It was a strange, sad place even when the steelworks was fully open, by the end of my service it had gone downhill a lot and what it must be like now I have no idea.

The sad thing is I had a brochure from the then Industry Secretary back in the 70's in my office which proclaimed "Redcar the new Rhur" ! If only the plans had been followed through, but sadly they succumbed to regional and political rivalries  :banghead:

I was thinking single float amphibian.  But thanks for the tip as I am quite likely to change my mind.

RS Models 1/72 Miles Magister. Whilst looking for something else I found two resin mustard gas dispensers I forgot I had. Original plan was for a Defiant but have decided a converted trainer is better, plus the Defiant is joining the Polish A.F.  ;D I got the "Invasion Scare" armed boxing and she may get a couple of small bombs as well as the dispensers for her most likely one run along the beach. I suppose technically they wouldn't have been suicide missions but they would have been darned close.

Today arrived my order from ModelsUa, all Amodel kits and 1/72nd scale. I know glutton for punishment and all that  :banghead: Yak 32 Mantis, single seat version of the trainer, will be a light attack aircraft, although it can carry quite an impressive offensive load out. Yak 25RV Mandrake, will also belong to the Cartel, and could well be their only reconnaissance bird, or an inflight refueling aircraft. KH-35X and Y anti ship missiles, I will try to clone these or make a similar to version of. These come with a display stand and a trolley, so you never know, I might just make a Dio at some stage, but don't hold your breath

A trip over to Jarrow as part of the Great Home Bargains Airfix Treasure HuntTM yielded another few Spitfire mk IXcs and the first mk I/IIas I've seen in the North East.

Hopefully more of the mk I/IIa to follow - Airfix have deleted it AFAIK and re-releasing it as a IIa/Va with new box art and decals.  I'm not payin 9 notes for the privilege of new decals and box art when I can snap them up for 3 quid.  Okay, I may succumb to one or two, but for that, I could have half a dozen of the cheap HB ones!

The previous deal for Typhoons - can we make it a trade for Spitfire mk I/IIas? Haven't seen them yet in this area - and I've been a fair way south too - and rather than pay £9 for the mk Va when it comes out for the priviledge of a new decal sheet, I'd rather buy three of the older kit.

Okay, so just to be clear, you want to trade 6 Typhoons for 6 Spitfire Mk.I/IIs, yes?

It's possible that I might be able to get more Mk.I/IIs: they're new into this area and more stores might get them.

I actually have 8 Typhoons for grabs.  Went through the numbers earlier.

The fountain mentioned upthread is to go with these fellas:

Just need to find my box of old Games Workshop Daleks.
