Think I am ready to call it a day for the time being where the Home Bargains kits are concerned.

4 more today.

Airfix 1/72 Spitfire Mk.IXc x2
Airfix 1/72 Gloster J-8A/ Gladiator Mk.II x2

The recent Home Bargains lot all in one place looks something like this......
Chris.

2014 EKFP Total = 8
2015 EKFP Total = 6
2016 EKFP Total = 2
2017 EKFP Total = 7
2018 EKFP Total = 3

1 kit isn't being bad - £3 barely covers the price of a pint these days.

It doesn't around here. Even the British Legion is £3.10 for the bitter and my local real ale pub (great beer, food and barmaids ) had a guest beer in last weekend that was £4.10 as opposed to his standard £3.80. Note he does normally carry about 12 beers (bitter, mild and stouts) and 5/6 ciders.

And yes I did have the £4.10 special. Any good ? Not bitter or hoppy enough for me. Very mild and very, very smooth. Excellent woman's pint I would say and I don't mean that disparagingly. It would suit a female palate and maybe that's what it was brewed for.

Anyway kit wise ? Picked up the Home Bargains stuff that was being held for me (in exchange for pizza and vino) and also picked up another Airfix Defiant.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Several additions to the stash over the last couple of days.
Yesterday I picked up from the Post Office an ebay win of
1 x 1/72 Heller Heinkel He 112 B0/B1

Today I picked up from the girlfriends
1 x 1/72 Airfix Lancaster BI(F.E.)/III from Bungel's stash sale which will be used for the Avro York conversion I have and a Manchester conversion I intend to get.

Also today I performed a raid on my local Home Bargains store which netted the following

1 x Gloster Gladiator Mk1
1 x Curtis Tomahawk IIB for TSrJoe
4 x Spitfire Mk.IXc two of which are for Lee if he wants them.

I also saw a further two on the shelves which I can pop in and get if you want Lee?

Alistair, that's a kind offer, but I'm doing my last trawl of HB tomorrow in the Durham area, so I'll let you know later.

The Gladiator to get is the Swedish Finnish one with the skiis.  Gives you a 3 blade prop so you have more options.

Not a problem Lee. I already have the Swedish Gladiator and wanted an early one as well and that those prices why not?

A quick trip round my 3 local Home Bargins store resulted in absolutely zilch - none of the stores have restocked anything since last Tuesday

Won a cheap 1:72 Mi-28 from Dragon on ev!lbay, w/o box but that's secondary.

Took delivery of 7 Airfix Spitfires - various marks - in return for Airfix Hurricane mk Is as part of the Great Home Bargains Airfix Treasure HuntTM.

Thanks to Home Bargains, I now have more Spitfires than I can shake a stick at.  I doubt I'll have to buy any more Airfix ones for at least 3 years, even at my somewhat prodigious build rate...

You're just not trying hard enough.  Try further afield, use the store locator:
http://storelocator.homebargains.co.uk/

I've covered much of the north east - from Redcar up to Cramlington and everything in between.  Except Consett.  That's off limits.  Local shops for local people.  The hills have eyes around there...

Do you still need more Mk.I/IIs?

Pull the other one - You had that many Spitfires before the Home Bargains clearance sale !!!!!  ;D, They just gave you a good reason to really over stock instead

The frightening factor however is with the hundreds of Spitfires you have in stock you probably have build ideas for ALL of them (or a combination of multiple kits in some cases ! )  ;)

Picked up the Xtraparts two seat F-102B conversion set for the Hasegawa kit from Hannants (yes I know we have a new tooling due out this next year ) but it could be interesting whiff fodder with the old Hasegawa kit

Also on route from Shapeways are:-

1/700 RN Phantom FG1 (7 out of 8 folded)
1/700 RN Buccaneers (folded)
1/700 RAF Buccaneers (needed these for non folded versions
1/700 Gannet ASW & AEW (folded and unfolded)

These are for either refreshing the CVA01 air group or a possible conversion of the Fujimi Ark Royal to its Phantomisation configuration (Now that's a conversion set I would like to see done by 3D printing)
