It's arrived!  My remaining aircraft holy grail kit.

From a very nice man on Evil-Bay I have received a 1/72 Bandai NAMC YS-11.
Its the last release, JASDF maritime search scheme, and so was nowhere as expensive as the original Imai piedmont airlines version is.
I have no idea why I had to have one of these.  I saw one on Evil-Bay a couple of years ago, didn't bid and instantly regretted it.  I then couldn't find another until Expo last year where I missed one by a fraction of a second - I reached for it and someone else picked it up.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Oooh, nice one Fred.

Does that version come with the transparent fuselage half that's in the Piedmont Airlines moulding?

No.   Fuselage is moulded in blue with the rest in white and tinted windows.  No internal detail except a full length floor.
I didn't know they did one with a clear half.  I presume it had an interior given that they wanted you to look at the inside?

Yes, it does, but it's nothing special. Bags of scope for detailing if that's your thing.

Very interesting kit Fred, not seen one of those, and I have a soft spot for turbo prop stuff, so something worth looking out for .
Arrived from Model hobbies via Ebay today, Heller 1/72 nd scale AMX 13/105. I have done a previous version of this tank, and changed the crappy looking gun barrel for a spare one from an M-60, makes it look a bit better at least. Not looked into this kit as yet, but I am hoping the 105 mm gun has better detail, so it can stay. Both tanks will be part of a marine assault battalion once I get my finger out and finish the vessel they will be transported in.

Interestingly, I saw one at YYC today (I mean a real one). At first I though it was an Andover but then the fin looked wrong. It had PetroCanada markings

Well I got that well and truly wrong, what I saw is nether of the above, it's actually a Grumman G-159 Gulfstream 1 ( a baby Andover/YS-11), specifically this one

(not my photo though, found it on the internet)

NARSES2

From yesterday's Farnborough show.

1/72 Avis Grigrovich IP-1. This will be either Chinese Nationalist or Spanish Republican.

1/72 Special Hobby P-47M Thunderbolt. This is the Academy kit with lots of added bells and whistles. Probably end up real as I've always fancied one of those two tone blue upper camouflaged aircraft.

Whilst looking for some RNIEAF transfers on Paul the decal mans stand (he really should go in for Mastermind with his specialist subject being Decal Sheets of the World) found a usefull sheet of Polish national markings by Techmod which suits my WWII begins on 1/9/40 scenario, plus also a small sheet by Propagteam of Russian Liberation Army markings for their 109 G 10's. However I have other plans for the RLA shields. Didn't get my RNEIAF markings though.

Also got some tools, brushes and paints. Although no one was stocking Humbrol and I need Matt Black. 3 outlets in Croydon and it's out of stock in all 3  :banghead: Been using one of those small pots you get with the starter kits. May have to get some semi gloss.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
