I really ought to build a model of the thing......

With or with out longer wings?  ;D ;D ;D

One of these days, Kit will build  a totally wingless 'lifting body'.......X-24A, M2-F3 or HL-10.......and confuse us all.

There's an interesting article in Air-Britain's latest AeroMilitaria magazine (Fall 2016). It's all about Vampire FTBs. One has ----  long pointy wings --

A model of 'my' T11 would have to be RW in all honesty.

But I did buy one of JayBee's 'cast offs' a little while ago and it's a few feet from me as I type this. It's a Mach 2  :banghead: X-24A and X-24B..................  ;D

I've got vacform M2-F3 and HL-10 kits as well.  ;)

I thought that the X-24B was really just the A with (relatively) long wings fitted.

OK.

Completely unexpected purchase this evening. :o

1/72 Airfix Sunderland III
1/48 Airfix EE Canberra PR.9
1/48 Academy F-111C
1/48 Italeri S-2E/F/G Tracker (#3 in the stash)

2nd time my wife had seen this advert in Gumtree (Aussie online swap'n'sell site) in 2 weeks.

1st up; it's odd that she'd even bring it to my attention in as intent a manner as she did (she tells me I have more than enough models every day).

However, they still wanted $220 for them but, well, it'd been 2 weeks. Put in a $130 offer, settled on $150 (plus a 50km round trip to Strathalbyn & back) for the lot.

It has never really struck me, until I opened the box to have a look-see, just how BIG the F-111 is.

Is this a completely new tool Geoff ? I've built the original but if this is a new tool then I'll get one for a real world build

To-day I had to dash up to Glasgow to collect a pile of kits from Gondor for delivery to The Wooksta at SMW. Guess what, they were Spitfires.
I also called in to Scott's Models for a couple of tins of paint and on the shelf he had three of the Meng Kids range of quasi Egg plane kits. There was the Pe-2, He-177 Grief, and the Lancaster.
I left with the two tins of paint and the Lancaster.
Now all I need to find are some suitably sized, fat (1/72 should do it) aircrew to go with the fat Lancaster.

Jim, may be fun to turn the Lanc into a 'Grand Slam' - some kind of egg for the bomb?

From Uncle Frank:
2 bottles Xtracrylic
1 Airfix Spitfire mk IIa/Va

and a magazine with a Hunter article by some gadgy called Jim Bricknell.  Never heard of him...
