Trev, use a Tempest canopy and wheels on the Firecrest.  I'd also steal a Sea Fury prop and spinner if you can.  The Magna parts are less than expected.

thanks Lee. as luck would have it, I have these items in the spares box but not the Sea Fury prop and spinner. I can live with this.

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

I'll be interested to hear how that tape works out.  Had my eye on it , too.

Went into the LHS to get some paint today.
Came out with a bottle of tamiya gloss (not flat - this time I read the label properly) red enamel, some saw blades for my #2 exacto knife and a 1/72 Airfix Jeep.  The Airborne one with the trailer, howitzer and pallet thingo.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I've tried it and if I'm honest the jury is still out. Can't quite make up my mind about it. I'll have more to report once I start painting my P-47.

I have some normal masking tape that goes down to 0.5mm and I find that very good for gradual curves and canopies. The Tamiya stuff is very plasticy and quite thick, not like their normal tape at all.

Chris
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

DogfighterZen

Thanks for the insight on the tape, Chris.
I wonder if it being thicker won't cause problems when covering with the conventional tape. I normally cut thins strips for canopy masking, those are used on the edges then i just fill the rest with normal 6mm tape bits. I only bought one roll to see how it works, if it doesn't, not much is lost.
I'll report back too when i get it.
