Re the "new" Tamiya wavy line tape. All the magazine reports I've seen are good, but they do tend to be 1/48 or larger.

I think it's the thickness of the stuff that is making me slightly ambivalent about it ? Be very interested to see/hear what others think

Anyway not an addition to the stash but got my usual "Legends of WWII" calendar for 2017 this morning. This years collection of superb action paintings are :-

Jan - Beaufighter attacking a Freighter
Feb - New Zealand P-40
Mar - RAF Harvard
Apr - Martinet
May - Oxford
Jun - Sea Otter in the sunset/rise
Jul - Sunderland moored in the early war dark earth/green scheme
Aug - Swordfish in a Channel Dash scene
Sep - Tiger Moth
Oct - Whitley
Nov - Tempest V
Dec - Gladiator

2018 dates - Spitfire VIII

All these folks talking about Airfix Victors....

What's the kit like then, and what's its Whiffing potential?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

From todays Hamex swapmeet.
and all 2nd hand.

72nd scale
two Hasegawa Vipers (F-16A ADF "Veltro51" and F-16B+ "Flight test Center".

1/144th
Novo Vickers super VC-10. At such a knocked down price it would have been rude not to rehome it.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

In the pipeline: an Airfix 1:72 Venom T.11 trainer for a conversion project, and, following the tip of a friend, in a LMS I snatched an Airfix 1:72 BAe Hawk (Red Arrows anniversary edition) for less than EUR 4,-, probably as kitbashing fodder. The Red Arrows markings might find a good use elsewhere, though...

OK, weird purchases for me today;

Plus a few tools & paint brushes, etc., from a bloke selling off his stash in nearby Hahndorf for $160 (excluding the extras, that's about $14.55 each - not bad, really).

Most of these will be built as RAN, Army or RAAF aircraft from my Royal Australian Marines alt. time-line. Others may be built OoB or become parts donors for other builds.

From Old Models Decals (at the last IPMS meeting for the year):
1/144 Kiwi Pacific Corsair Roundel transfers... not for a Corsair, though...  ;D
(I've had the whif on the go since before this time last year but glad I held off completion until these existed.)

I recently used a set of John's RNZAF Boing 727 markings and I'm really impressed. These things turn out to be relatively Rick-Proof, which is a good thing...

Cheers

Still waiting for mine, although I'm tempted with an operational version of the prototype, with the nose barbettes, tail turret and type C markings.
