Another addition this morning, quite different to my normal fare:

To be whiffed. "What if MI6 issued modified, weaponised cars to its agents in the mid-60s?"

The Wooksta!

Much as I love Astons, I've never been a fan of the DB5, or indeed the slightly lengthened DB6.

I'm not a car guy, I've just always wanted Bond's DB5. The box says kit mould copyright 1967...it looks it. Hopefully Airfix-Hornby re-do this to the standards of the recent aircraft kits.

I received today and envelope from BNAmodelworld.com containing three decal sheets (all 10% off - they were having a sale) and a roll of Tamiya bendy masking tape (2mm).

Decals are all 1/72 and by Printscale.
They are two different camo patterns intended for Kawasaki Ki61s and a Vampire two seater set.
The Vampire set gives me Irish air Corp, Arab Legion AF, SAAF, RAF, Chilean AF, RAAF, FAA and Indian AF.  All of which will be very useful.

I immediately used the 2mm bendy tape on the Turbocat to mask for stripes round the sun lounge blisters.  It was easy to get it to follow the path I wanted but where I was without a line to follow it was tricky to maintain a smooth curve.  The glue on it could be stronger and while it is thicker than other tape that didn't seem to be a problem and where I had to overlap two layers the softness of the tape meant it was easy to use my thumbnail to push it down.
I started to paint but was immediately interrupted by a passing plumber and got none done.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Had one of those way back when, it got converted to run on our Scalextric track. I gave it big wide tires (tyres) that originally came with a Chaparral (I could swap the engine and gear from car to car in a minute or two, mind you I had a whole bunch of the Airfix car kits made to run on the track, the Mini was fun)

From the London Model Show - all 1/72

MisterCraft Dweotine D-520. In all honesty I only bought this as the lad on the Mr Kits stand was kind enough to get it down for me and I didn't want to put him to trouble of getting it back  ;D Good price and with 4 transfer options. French, Italian, German and Bulgarian. The Italian and Bulgarian options are listed as "being only for that market" in the rather nice colour instructions. Obviously the packers didn't read it  This is probably a re-pop of someone's tools but Scalemates doesn't say.

RS Henschel Hs-123A. Somehow Japanese is calling me ? 5 making options ; the prototype and 4 wif.

AZ Me 109 H-1/R6. This has a different tail to the other to boxings, very un 109 like. Goes with the other version (they do 3) I got at Telford. 3 Marking options ; probable prototype and 2 wif markings.

Cool, cool. I'll keep the tape on my list then.  The thought of having to cut tape to shape is terrifying. I'm useless with hobby knives and do all my cutting with scissors.. I just don't see how people keep the blade on a knife from going off target, etc.  I guess I should read up on it or use my cutting mat I dunno..

HS123 looks great in Japanese markings...seen it done a few times. Needs the smoother cowl of the prototype though.

Today arrived 5,yes 5 1/72nd scale tanks from Army of one. 2 m60's 2 m1 Abrams and a Leopard 1. Just wow, as I wasn't expecting these as a swap for some bombs and missiles.
Also purchased from eBay,whilst enjoying some wild turkey honey, yeah, that old chestnut. Airfix Bristol super freighter, whilst sat on the toilet this morning, concluded that it will either have turbo props or turbo fans depending on what I can do with the wings,a floor inside and some detail and retractable tricycle landing gear. I will make sponsons for the rear gears to fold into, and the nose gear will get its own scratch built well to live in.

For some reason I have an image in my head of a circular stone structure with a little roof over it and someone hauling a bucket of water up from within its depths.   ;D

A 1:1 kit this time: a Tamiya mini drill. Runs on 2 AA batteries, and yes, it comes as a kit, to be assembled.

I was looking for something lighter than my full-size cordless drill. That works well on plastic (with 0-900 rpm adjustable speed, so you don't melt the plastic) but at 1.5 kg it's too heavy for the really small jobs.

Sharp blade and don't press too hard (which is easy to say).
