I will make sponsons for the rear gears to fold into, and the nose gear will get its own scratch built well to live in.

For some reason I have an image in my head of a circular stone structure with a little roof over it and someone hauling a bucket of water up from within its depths.   ;D

I received... a roll of Tamiya bendy masking tape (2mm).
...
I immediately used the 2mm bendy tape on the Turbocat to mask for stripes round the sun lounge blisters.  It was easy to get it to follow the path I wanted but where I was without a line to follow it was tricky to maintain a smooth curve.  The glue on it could be stronger and while it is thicker than other tape that didn't seem to be a problem and where I had to overlap two layers the softness of the tape meant it was easy to use my thumbnail to push it down.
I started to paint but was immediately interrupted by a passing plumber and got none done.

I managed to paint the Turbocat today without interruptions from passing tradesmen.
Apart from in one area the bendy tape is no better and no worse than the non-bendy tape I also used (a mix of Tamiya and another brand which looks and performs like Tamiya).  There was some seep under but it was where the engraved panel lines were and happened with both types of tape - probably my technique rather than the tape.
The issue with the bendy tape was where I had overlapped it with non-bendy tape.  Here, because of the thickness of the bendy tape the seep under was much worse.  This could possibly have been avoided with some serious burnishing but probably better to plan ahead and mask so that bendy tape always goes over non-bendy tape.
I was using Vallejo model colour acrylics brushed on over rattle canned car paint and brushed metaliser.  IME this is the worst scenario for masking tape as the brushing action if done towards or along the tape edge (unavoidable here) forces paint under neath the tape.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Good deal. It's nice to have someone hop on grenade so to speak. These are things that are good to know ahead of time so thanks!

Won on eBay before I was told about the Alleycat Avro Shackleton T4 conversion, the 1/72 Contrail vacform Avro Shackleton MR.1with metal parts.
Another Revell Avro Shackleton MR3 and Hasegawa EB-6A Prowler.
Got a crazy idea to kitbash the Shackleton with a DC-3/47 Dakota.

Doesn't seem to be just me then. As said the jury is still out in so far as I am concerned
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Those ALQ-99 pods will always come handy when you want to create your own ECM/Wild Weasel plane.

Also, IRL there exists even turboprop conversions of the DC-3 with glass cockpits, so your bash is far from crazy.

Recently I saw a drawing of a Gemini interceptor...The kit was only NZ$14.99 - $5 cheaper than Airfix's new-tool 1/72 Mustang, Spitfire etc - and I was looking for an excuse to get it!

Second attempt with it today.  I doesn't like being removed and repositioned - more likely to seep under if you do that.  But, it stretches nicely if you cut it too short.

I wager that's not 1/72.  Will it be painted like this?

I wager that's not 1/72.
Glorious 1/20 scale! Comes with motor, LED and all sorts of delicious detail.

:-) No. I never saw much of the show as a kid - my Hughes influences were Deadly Encounter, Birds of Prey, and this local beauty:

This yellow beasty is the subject for this kit. It was my favourite helicopter as a kid - I have clear memories of drawing it in my first months of school.
