Some more additions to the armour arrived today, this time for my Honduras army builds.Got them quite cheap as they were reduced to clear.Revell Boxer APC and Luchs armoured car, both in 1/72nd scale. Oh, and a jar of tamiya flat black.

Managed to snag a pair of the new Aoshima HMS Illustrious in 1/700 scale off eBay from Japan, so will probably arrive in the new year.

These are newly retooled, replacing their rather crude previous Illustrious kit, so are at least acceptable, and one of them is going to be converted to the updated Illustrious used as a trials carrier with the round downs built up, revised Island and armament. Unfortunately this new kit is likely to be surpassed by the new Flyhawk version of the Illustrious probably due out in 2017, as they also clashed on the WW2 Hermes kits this year.

A shame really as both kits are circa 1940/41 so its Taranto and the Malta Convoys where one could have focused on the British Pacific Fleet late war versions with late war air groups.

Hopefully one of these two will have a go at the British Light Fleet Carriers in plastic at some stage.

from an unplanned trip to Mr Models yesterday.....

Dragon Sea Vixen FAW2
Mach 2 Convair C-131
Mach 2 Martin RB-57F
Mach 2 C-21 Learjet

and all of these are for wiffing  especially as the C-131 and the C-21 come with lots and lots of extra bits on the sprues.

Got the call from the LHS to pick up the compressor today and also brought home another 1/72 Italeri F-35A which might end up donating some parts for my current F-16 build and the rest, kept for another project.
Also received the Tamiya Wavy line tape but didn't get to try it yet.

From Fenwicks, where the Hornby concession is closing:
An Airfix Shackleton MR2 with 30% discount.

Then the gadgy said he had another with bits missing and he'd do a deal.  Only issue was a short shot wing (fixable) so overall I scored for a pair of Shacks for little more than 40 notes.

Result!

Yesterday from Ian Allan Bookshops here in the centre of sunny Birmingham (and only 5 minutes walk from work  ;D )

a Roden 1:144 Fairchild C-119C Boxcar for £15.00

I think it'll be a RAF replacement / alternative buy instead for the A.W.Argosy....but what markings / camouflage ?
Oh to be whiffing again :-(

Picked up an ebay purchase from Sainsbury's today

1 x 1/72 Airfix Shackleton to replace the one that's going to become a MR1/1A

In the post from the Big H

2 x 1/72 Quickboost Lancaster Gun Barrels for the Airfix kit
1 x 1/72 Transport Wings Vickers Valiant B2 conversion set. I wish they made the box bigger as some of the parts were squeezed in tight and one piece broke, easily fixable, but annoying for a slightly larger box.
1 x 1/72 SuperScale Decal set 72-823 F-4B/J of VF-74 & VF-84

An OrangeHobby 1/700 HMS Hermes Commando Carrier, going to look to convert this back to her earlier CATOBAR configuration to add to my Carrier collection.

Looking at the mould it looks like OrangeHobby may actually do a CATOBAR version, and the hull could act as a basis for the Centaur class

Showing my ignorance here .... is "Brown Bomber" the 'desert' camouflage scheme, or are you suggesting I do it up like a WWII Lancaster Bomber  :o
