I've found very little information on the internet regarding the following and while I have some guesstimates and ideas as to what the systems do, I am not certain and I figure you guys would probably be able to provide a more conclusive answer.  Though a forum largely based of model builders and graphic artists, this forum does have a number of very knowledgeable members such as wuzak (who seems to know more about aircraft piston engines and propellers than seemingly anybody else I know of), tomo pauk, sandiego89, and rickshaw.

The Automatic Gyro-Leveling Device (AGLD) / Automatic Erecting System

  • It was apparently used on early Norden's and was removed because of reliability issues
  • My assumption is that it was supposed to prevent the gyro from toppling: Am I right or wrong?
.
The Glide-Bombing Attatchment (GBA)

  • It was designed to allow them to climb and descend during the bombing run
  • It could somehow sense altitude and would use that to effectively adjust the gyro or something when the plane climbed or descended
I'm curious when this first became available, how quickly it reacted to climb and descent angles, and what the maximum climb and descent angles were.  Frankly, I'm puzzled how banking would topple the gyro, but diving wouldn't.
That being said, I'd like to remind everybody in a manner reminiscent of the SNL bit on Julian Assange, that no matter how I die: It was murder (even if there was a suicide note or a video of me peacefully dying in my sleep); should I be framed for a criminal offense or disappear, you know to blame.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

ChernayaAkula,

I didn't consider the possibility nobody had an answer: So I deleted & reposted to nudge the thread up top.

All you have to do is to add a post with ""bump"" written in, you deleting your threads all the time just gets annoying ----

Yes but bump appears too obvious...

As an observer and contributor to some of your threads, I find a bump much less annoying than a delete and a new post of the same basic question asked in slightly a different way.  You can change course, just keep it in the same thread.  If someone takes the time and interest to respond you should respect their comments and not delete them.  If you get crickets, no one wants to play.

Isn't that the whole idea of a 'Bump'?   :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Very well put
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hush, you all... She's trying to figure out how Sean Penn gets a ride in a Senior Citizen while she hasn't even seen one yet.

Must be why Secret Projects sites has this bump without any visible comments readable by "guests"... But, no she won't tell them either. Whether she has the files.
