I was reading through Vertical Take-Off Fighter Aircraft by Bill Rose last week, I seen that the author had noted the simularity of the 1963 Sukoi Shkval 1A to a shortened MiG-25 fuselage. I had (until yesterday) a unstarted MiniHobbyModels 1:144 MiG-25 with no intended use so I will try a hypothetical MiG designed version of the concept with larger flying surfaces and a full MiG-25 fuselage. Wings have been cut free and slots for the new wings roughly cut out so far.

Oh, a Shkval! Looking forward to it.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Wings cut free, new wings to be used (F/A-18 vertical tails) and the tailplanes will be the canards.

Groovy.

Looks like it could transform into a mobile suit/giant robot at any moment.

Sweet. The scale mix works very well, very nice!
Wingtip tanks to come, too? Is there going to be a floor window for the pilot?

Flyer

Does look like it could be mates with Starscream, maybe a Decepticon repaint after GB...

Tanks/pods when I figure out how, I have already broken my best pencil sharpener trying to get a repeatable result making sprue pointy.

Hadn't thought about a downward window, not a bad suggestion.

I had however thought about a pivoting forward fuselage but dismissed it due to complexity and the scratch building involved.

4 good size bombs courtesy of Zenrat have arrived, they will become the tip pod's shortly. Also hunting through my spare parts for a clear window/s for the underside.

.... and BIG rear view mirrors for landing it too!

At 1:144, decals or a painted solution might suffice?

Paint would be the easy way, yeah I think that will do.

Hmm, wing mirrors- literally, I could make the canards very shiny and move them to in front of the cockpit and have them rotate 90° for vertical flight so the ground is reflected over the entire surface. Nah, I like the look of them where they are.

Rear-facing perscopes might be more realistic, methinks.

Or cameras.

Or both.
