Been looking recently for art that I loved when I was younger (and still do); managed to track down an absolute favourite book-cover ("Imperial Stars") to Peter Andrew Jones' website : http://www.peterandrewjones.net/iacg.htm

Had to buy the print:

Also going to pick up the original art print from "Strangler's Moon".

Waiting with much anticipation for "The Gaussi Fighter" from Jim Burns. Wife despairing as usual.....

This is probably old news but Chris Foss' book "Hardware" is to die for

....also broke the bank by buying one of Moebius' classic Colonial Vipers. As a pre-assembled/painted display model the level of detail is surprisingly good. My attempts have always gone to Ebay ;D

Good news is they're about to release a 1/32 Cylon Raider, also pre-assebled/painted...looks very nice. Think I'll hang them up in the stairwell, despairing wife or not.

He posts some marvellous stuff.

James Hance covers the serious and light side of sci fi art.  I've got a couple of prints, including a classic twist on Hitchcock-

I really should have kept up with this genre, I do so love it. Thanks for the links.

Now I've got Metallica's "I Disappear" stuck in my head ;D.

I belonged to one of those Sci-Fi clubs at 6th form college, drew art for a friend who wrote some superb stories. Not much remains but I dug out this surviving sheet from a (I think) eight page story happily ripped from a Galactica-esqe storyline...I suspect I nicked the inset panel from Cam Kennedy...I was never much good at figure drawing:

Funny to look back at these things. As usual, I lost all confidence in what I could do and haven't drawn for about 28  years now. As I approach 'those' years I've really tempted to start again.

He's a local guy selling art for his daughter's treatments.

We have some of his prints up in our office.

Cheers,

Had a good look at that James Hance site; lots of chuckles. Especially liked the Jamie Hewlett homage of Princess Leia with a lollypop and vaderschmader patch ;D. Reminded me of this similar:

Yes.  Do it.  That's an excellent drawing Max.  I can see some Kevin O'Neill influence there I think.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

...and talking of Cam Kennedy I was thrilled to see the release in HB of "Light and Darkness War". Has some very nice whif ideas as well:

Interesting.  The cover is reminiscent of his work on Rogue Trooper.

Received my "Gaussi Fighter" print...almost cried with happiness...always loved this picture, took so long to find out who painted it:

Just love the pencil remarque...I'd asked Jim for his interpretation of the craft from the side. Sooo grateful ;D :

Got a few to get framed now and that gets so expensive :banghead:.

Gondor

I had that years ago when I was in my 20's and in the RAF. First saw the picture in OMNI magazine then got the poster. Don't think I would have anywhere to put the picture if I got it now though :(

I've always loved that picture.

Make your own frames.  You'll need to invest in a mitre box and some corner clamps but once you've got them it's relatively simple.  I find the hardest thing is to find the time.

Check out this picture by  Geoff Darrow:

His comic books are great fun too...especially his work with Frank Miller.

I've been working on producing some decals for a 1/24 van build which combine two of my favourite things from 2000AD - ABC Warriors and the drawings of Simon Bisley.

Lots more here.
