Not necessarily a whif any more, looks like India is signing up to buy 36 Rafales.

It takes only one drink to get me drunk. The trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or the fourteenth.

Not really they were selected as preferred bidder about 2 years ago, but the MRCA deal has gone a bit flat as the original 150+ requirement was dropped when Dassault wouldn't sign up to gaurantee all the aircraft in particular the majority of the order that was supposed to be built by HAL. The French compant wasn't going to sign off on that deal, so the Indian govt dropped the requirement to 36 of French manufacture.

Ironically the French have been pushing the Rafale M at the Indian Navy which have a requirement for 56 aircraft

MRCA?

I thought the Tornado had gone out of production years ago............  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

They are flying the MiG-29K variant at this time. I believe they are being flown off the new carrier the INS Vikramaditya. They have about 30 in service from what I understand.
