Gassers - Gas class dragsters which were supposed to be nominally street legal in as much as they were required to be standard bodied cars carrying equipment such as lights.
When the class rules were first drawn up in the late 50's early 60's most were driven to the track and then raced.  As time went on however the cars became more and more specialised until they reached a point where most, while looking legalism, were not street able and so were towed or trailered to the track.
This build represents a 1940 Ford Standard Coupe Gasser powered by a supercharged 390ci Ford V8 from a '62 Thunderbird which has been further modified for the more lucrative pastime of match racing by having "illegal" modifications carried out such as trimming the bodywork.

It's a 1/24 Revell kit with the engine and rear axle from an AMT '62 Thunderbird.
Paint is Vallejo acrylic and decals are home made.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Yes, with exhaust headers like THAT it's definitely NOT  'street legal', at least not in any place I know.  ;D

But it looks terrific, a great example of the genre.

What's does the writing say that runs over the centre-line though?

Thanks Kit.  I though it would tickle your fancy.  Particularly because I painted it PRU Blue...
That's not writing.  Its an experiment in printing a decal that looks like a worn painted stripe.

It did indeed.

I spent some time with a saved copy of the first pic turning it through various angles trying to figure out what it said on the 'stripe'....Duh!  ;D
