I don't have any Cuban markings but that's a minor detail which hasn't stopped me before...

I found time to do another round of PSR on the tail today - I had some pin holes and scratches in my filler - hopefully once sanded off this is it for the fuselage and I can glue the wings on.
The Cuban scheme is appealing to me a a rocket boosted interceptor would be just what they would have wanted in order to get up to height to the Yankee bombers before they reached Havana.

While painting the facias and gutters of my house I have been mulling over the scheme for this.  Maybe it was the music on the iPod (Bachman Turner Overdrive) but now i'm toying with the idea of a Canadian Socialist Republic...

Glued on one wing today.

Round one of PSR on the wing joints completed today.
In the end I gave up trying to preserve the raised detail on the wings (what was the Airfix master maker on?) and sanded them smooth.
It needs more filler in places on the joints plus some on some of the repairs I made when I "de-gluebombed" the wings.  Not major filling though.  Should just be a smear.

I've also come up with a back story which would explain Cuban aircraft operating in the snow.

First coat of colour today - pale blue on the belly.
I've also designed some markings which represent the République Socialiste Canadienne Air Force.

Oui, Canadienne.
In my whiffworld Alaska remained Russian and a Soviet and French backed rebellion drove the British out of Canada during the depression.
Fast forward to 1961 and Cuban MiGs piloted by "volunteers" were loaned to the RSC during the Quebec missile crisis...

Finished the upper side blue today.  Next is the lighter of the 2 greens.

Oh no! it's the giant arm! eject eject!

That's my take on Cuban camo.  I will now seal it under some clear, hairspray it and put some white over the top in splinter pattern before weathering it.
