Just a bit of a moan really......the shows i have been to have always been reasonably priced to get in when I'm not in as part of the display/exhibiting.....went to Brighton today and gotta say.....didn't know there was a show on. Asked how much to go in at 15.25 (show 9-5) and told full price of just under a tenner for me and fiver for Max....gotta say it put me off and thought it a bit high even if I'd turned up at opening time. Or am i just being tight......?

Way too high.  Fiver for adults max.

for that price id be expecting a show on the scale of SMW.

Lee's about right, a fiver(ish) is a fair maximum adult price.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Speaking for Tyneside, after 3.30, we usually let most people in gratis.

Was it a local show or was it the model engineering show they have in the conference centre ? Still steep whatever though

Yup it's rather like the Model Engineering Show at the Ally Pally, that's pricey as well and isn't really aimed at us. Useful for tools and just to admire the miniature engineering but not a plastic show as such

The Model Engineering Show at the Brighton Centre used to have lots of model railway layouts and Meccano fairgrounds.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Still does, not really one for our specialty

Maybe not, but I can stand and stare at quality model railway layouts for ages.

I could swear there was a railway layout at 'uddersfield this year.  I know Tyneside tried to get some of the local railway modellers interested a few years back with some small layouts turning up.

There was. I think it was on the Classic British Kits SIG stand ? At least the guys were wearing CBK T-shirts
