Now I saw a report that the newly formed Czech firm Q-M-T prepares What if an upgrade kit for the F-15 Eagle British. Soon it will be about my next project What if this model.

Now that should be interesting to see --


A two-seater F-15 was banded with Brit equipment before Tornado even got going.  It was proposed that a production line be set up in Europe with the hope other countries would jump on board. It had the benefit of having the F-15B already flying in service so all that would have needed testing was the equipment installed. The shortage of fuel in the F-15K variant had already been addressed with the conformal tanks being tested on a F-15B.

I've got a build going where I've switched the nose cone to a Tornado F.3 one, also switched the engines too.

The AMT/Italeri B-52G/H kit is notorious for having its wings moulded in the 'in flight' position as they show zero dihedral.

It's the very devil to modify it so that they droop even a small amount. I've done it once without much success, but I have another kit in The Loft for second attempt one day.

There was a conversion one of the after-market outfits produced which corrected the 'on-ground' problem. Can't think what their name was called though, might have been Goffy Model or something like that --

Deltabits in the UK were going to do such a conversion too but I never saw one before they folded, a big pity.

Good to know that Kit.  I was thinking of Golden Dragon Productions which is now known as Buffmaster Designs (got some of their stuff) which do the wing root correction set and there's also Click2Detail who also does some B-52 stuff.

Having sat in my car & watched B-52's taking off from Darwin airport more than a few times, I am quite convinced that if it wasn't for their wings flapping they'd never have gotten off the ground!

Similarly, that if their wings didn't flap down on landing they'd never have stopped on the runway.

The decals are printed, so I just sprayed white color and apply decals.

I am liking that, it certainly suits a camo scheme better than the overall grey it is in U.S service.
