Small update.

I've packed as much weight into the front end as I can, considering the limited space...

And had a test fit of the new nose. Looks almost made for it...

That is a bit of a pig's breakfast on the inside isn't it? Gotta wonder, when it's full of grunts with full packs and weapons, how often guys get hooked on all that stuff.

When entering an aircraft, you wear your pack on your front, to prevent that.

Especially with fixed bayonets...

When entering an aircraft, your weapon is unloaded and your bayonet is in your scabbard.  Your hat is removed and stowed in your pocket.

That is how it's done by the Australian Army.  Don't know about other Armies but I expect they have similar instructions when carrying troops in Aircraft.

Not much done here. Just the wings and tail on.  I am worried about this kit's accuracy in some respects though, as the rotors seem to be extremely close to the fuselage.  Like a scale foot....

But where do the resin Victor intakes visible in the background of the last pic fit in?  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I do apologise whole-heartedly.  It's my guilty sin to occasionally dip into real world modeling.....
