Following numerous crash of the F- 104 " The flying coffin " and the annulment of the contract for the Tornado . The Bundesmarine turned to the F-16 already used by their Norwegian neighbors and developed the CFT tank to improve its autonomy, in order to release attachment points to carry more load without being penalized ....

The nicest little detail is how wingtip Sidewinders are the same colour as top camo and underside ones are the usual white to better match the bottom colour
