Thanks F-32!

I am working on a battle damaged Fw 190A right now, I might have it finished in a couple weeks.

Here is a pic from last Sunday...

I haven't made any comments on the last few of your posts because

and this is where I insert the "be careful how you read this" comment

because your images have become typical. Typical meaning excellent, and totally without anything negative attached. Like that song, I've become accustomed to your face, looking at your posts, I've become so accustomed to a level of excellence in your images that I'm sorta lost as to what to say.

However, in realizing that I haven't said anything, I've realized that the absence of a comment can be misconstrued as a negative and I felt the need to commend you on yet more ... excellence.

Drat, see how hard this is? ^_^

right some good work there boy! Looking forward to more.

Thanks for the comments I.M.W.F.O.!

I hope to have some new models to photograph soon.

With your modeling and photographic talents, you know what I'd like to see?
A period shot showing 1944 with recognizable subjects yet, the hint of something impossibly from the future like a shiny silver UFO being reverse-engineered in the background or something.  Something that is completely juxtaposed for the time period!
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

John,

I've thought about doing a German flying saucer to photograph, and with AlcladII paints doing NMF is very easy to do now.
I have read stories of Luftwaffe flying saucers being test flown near the end of the war and a model of such a vehicle would be very cool, would this be called Luft'47?

An in-progress pic of my Ta 183s...

Several are avilable at http://www.unicraftmodels.com/
Clicking on the thumbnails there, you will get much details, 3-view drawings, etc. Enjoy!
(though, I think John did not suggest to build a Luft'47 flying saucer but something impossible, something future even fir us, and doubly funny in a picture of the past :D )

Maybe Alvis could re-post his Nazi flying saucer (or some kind soul will be able to dig it out here or on ARC)  :ar:

Tophe,

I have seen a kit of a UFO recently in one of my catalogs, I think it was produced by Monogram or Testors. Also in the Squadron catalog there was a resin figure of Mr Spock of ''Star Trek'' that I thought would be fun to include in some pictures for the next April 1st.

Next time I order some hobby supplies I will also order that UFO kit, I wanted to do a model with NMF anyway to gain more experience with AlcladII.

IIRC there was a Star Trek episode where the Enterprise came across a planet inhabited by nazis - JHM (resident trekkie) will be able to fill in the details and name the episode :)

nev,
I remember that episode you mentioned, what I thought was very interesting was how they used the V2 as a space defence weapon!

Some of those time-travel episodes were the best Star Trek shows they ever did.

BTW, has anybody ever made a WWII Luftwaffe F-16? It is another idea I've had for a bunch of photos I wanted to do for April 1st, picture an F-16 backdated and loaded with R4m and X-4 air to air rockets and painted with RLM 83/75/76 with Luftwaffe markings.

Wooksta,

Sure Mr. Shatner was guilty of over-acting, but thats part of the fun of watching those shows now!

Back in the late 1960s Star Trek was a pretty good show, not much sci-fi available on TV in those days.

Matrixone

Gary

The old series was really well written and broke a lot of conventions for television. Overacted, yup, but Shatner had been a Shakspearian stage actor with little television experience when he got there. Not making excuses mind you.

Oh crap...

I just realized, I'm wearing a red shirt. My only line is

Arrrgggggggggggggggg............

I have a Mirage I'm going to paint in a 1930's French scheme I found online - green with a white skeletal Death running down the fuselage.
We mulled the idea of a group build of modern aircraft in old camo schemes. How about that F-16 in WW1 German lozenge camo?

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.
