Continuing the struggle against Nazis, the belgian government exiled in England ordered in september 1940 for 80 F4F Wildcat. First ones arrived early 1941.
As an agreement was made with British government, Belgian aircrafts kept the Belgian cockades and squadron insignias; that's why some Wildcats were bearing the thistle...
Belgian Wildcats were "denavalized" and thus slightly modified (no windows in the fuselage to see the carrier deck)...

i wish they held out a little longer, then we should have actually gotten some G36's

Drawing the panel lines is unusual but looks nice.

  Very nice, I like it so much!!

zenrat

Panel lines are a bit heavy for my tastes but it works.  Good job.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

That is very good, love the paint job! I also think the panel lines look a bit too heavy but it doesn't diminish the excellent result.

I like that and I to have built French, Belgian and Dutch aircraft with their own national markings on the basis that the RAF considered it was a great morale boost for the "Free" forces

I assume it's 1/48 but which kit is it ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Captain Canada

Very nice ! Love the camo colours, especially when combined with the underside colour, and anything in those roundels looks good to me. Great job.

The camo looks fantastic, as does the base, and it looks just right in Belgian colors.

No, it hasn't yet, but I don't think the rules (if there are any......) prevent you doing so.  ;D  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Thank you all!

The kit is the old Academy at 1/72 scale. That explains why panels are so deep...
That kit was given to me by a friend; otherwise I would have bought the Airfix kit.

Anyway, that Academy kit looks fine once finished.

Thank you for nominating me  ;)
