So, as there are 1/32 and 1/48 kits of this helicopter, a year ago i bought a 1/72 Airfix Gazelle with the intention of converting it. I saw a build on brittmodeler but the guy didn't finish it.
Has anyone here thought or tried this conversion? I'm thinking of making it in service with a few small changes to the original design, but still keeping it close so that it can be recognized... if i'm able to do something out of it, that is.
It amazes me that i've never read anything around here about such a beautiful bird...

Blue Thunder?  Much rather have Airwolf.  Sleeker, more elegant and stylish - a mach one plus chopper that kicks butt!

Well, it is sleeker and has more firepower but i'm more into Blue Thunder...
Found KiwiZac's Blue Thunder, the 32nd Kitech kit. http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,29395.msg447027.html#msg447027

My money would be on the Screamin Mimi, but only if it had the RoBoz on board.

Back in early '84 while I was sick with the flu I turned an Airfix Gazelle into BT. Lots of bending clear sheet. Not overly detailed but it is a BT. I didn't even have drawings, only a few pics of the real one.

Captain Canada

lol forgot all about Screamin' Mimi !

Thanks for the revisit of Zac's cool camo

Yeah, i believe the cockpit windows and the front section of the gun will be the most challenging things to do. I've also been thinking of using a RAH-66 as a basis for a modernized Blue Thunder version, maybe with retractable skids...
