This Spanish airforce  707 was parked @ Malaga airport yesterday. I could only gat a couple of quick shots (through) glass as we boarded the flight home.
I dont think there are many still flying with the original engines.

I bet when it took off it would have looked like it was coal burning.

I used to relish watching the DAS Air Cargo 707s depart fro m Gatwick while I was waiting to fly out on Northwest's DC10-40 flight to Minneapolis.

The 707 was maybe 20 miles away before its smoke trail cleared, and 4-5 following flights had to climb out through it. I bet the second one after it was in IMC from brakes off!  :o

Captain Canada

Lovely. That would be a sight and sound to see ! I stopped in at Trenton to watch a Polaris do some go arounds. Nice, but nothing like the days of watching the red and white, Lightning striped old school 707 do it !

When I was a very young trainee cadet ATCO at Glasgow, I remember one day clearing the Icelandair B727 for take-off for Keflavick, and then watching his trail all the way to almost 59N010W, well NW of the Western Isles. AH wonderfull smokey days.

They are just physical manifestations of collisions between enigma & conundrum particles.

Any aircraft can be improved by giving it a SHARKMOUTH!

Going even further back, my brother and I used to ride our bikes over to Brize Norton from our house in Oxford to watch the B-47s and KC-135s there, sometimes B-36s too.  :o

The B-47s and KC-135s used to produce HORRENDOUS amounts of smoke on take-off, and we always hoped they'd fire some JATO bottles on the B-47s, but they never did, spoilsports.  :banghead:
