That's pretty much what it is too, after the disappointment that was the Mandrake.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

In the early '90s when pics of the M-17 first came out and I had time to build profusely, I built a 1/72 M-17 using the fuselage of a vac Yak-38 (Wings maybe?), 1/48 Hawk/Testors U-2 wings, dowels for the booms and plastic card for the verical and horizontal tail surfaces. Looks the part.
