And yes, they attacked several cities and even colonized one, Póvoa do Varzim, in the north of the country, in the IX and X century. And besides, the Iberian Peninsula was occupied by several "barbarian" tribes like Visigoths and Suebi, hence the "Bárbaros" name of the squadron. I guess i could save the vikings for another build...  ;D :thumbsup:

The Visgoth Kingdom is a fascinating period of History. One of the great what ifs had it survived for longer than it did

If the Muslim invasion didn't take place, we would probably have a very different map concerning countries and borders.
But in a way, they did survive, i'm one of them... The Christian Visigoths that held out in the north of the peninsula, were the ones who conquered most of the place back and formed the several kingdoms that later became Spain and Portugal. ;D

I'd never really thought about that, but you are right of course  :thumbsup: It's a period of history I need to read up on, that and the Carolingens in France/Germany
