Finally go some get up and go to do some work on this build. There is no way I will finish this in time for the end of the Group Build even with the extension we have, maybe if the extension had doubled the time I might have but I think I was really being a bit ambitious with what I was trying to do.

Any way, some pictures are in order....

The above picture shows the two parts of the kits hull screwed and glued together. Yes, that's right, screwed together

The stern part has a large recess which allows you to use a self-tapping screw, provided in the kit, to hold the two parts together. I also used a two part epoxy slathered over the forward end of the stern part prior to screwing the two parts together for the last time. I did a "dry" run previously to make sure that I was getting the parts together with the minimum amount of filling etc later.

As you can see, I have dry fitted the superstructure to the deck and placed a few of the aircraft I bought from Shapeways to populate the deck and give a sense of scale to the whole craft.

Next will be trying to hide the join between the two hull parts which could be a whole lot of heart ache.

Sorry that the pictures are rather dark but I had to take them on my large table in my lounge due to my modelling table being cluttered up with a single seat Firefly build. Now that might be an idea for a Sci-fi build as well.

Sprayed some primer onto the air wing so thought I should post the pictures on the thread.

Wessex

Phantoms. I need to add the RWR to the fin but that only needs to be a strip of plastic card to replace the fin cap.

General shot showing the AEW Sea Kings which will have their AEW radar removed as I have Gannets both the AEW and normal version will I will use as COD aircraft.

Buccaneers

I used Halfords Grey Plastic Primer from the rattle can. Unfortunately one of the Phantoms decided to take off as I primed them outside and its foulded wing tip came off. I still have it and will fix it in place later once detail painting has been done.

A small amount done to the craft today. Used super glue and a well known two part epoxy to fill the gap between the two hull parts.

Progress even if it is a small amount.
