Put chicken and sausages on the pitot tube, so when the Winder fires, it cooks the meat!

Man, that second pic looks REAL!  :o

JS - noticed that too, it's an optical delusion.  :P

QuoteMaybe it's just an optical illusion created by the shapes involved, but in some of the pics you've posted, it looks like the wingtips are canted inward, so that the missiles on the wingtips aren't pointing straight ahead.

(My candidate for longest run-on sentence there!)

I suppose it doesn't really matter, but it looks a little weird.
Ummmmm, Yes it must be some strange defect of the lens on this cheap digital camera.

Actually, they are canted a few degrees inward.  During construction it didn't look too bad so I didn't mess with it.  Once the wingtip hardpoints were installed, it was pretty obvious.  But I sure as hell ain't gonna mess with it now.

Thanks for the comments, though.  It's so nice to have one's ego massaged, even when you screw something up.

Captain Canada

Looking good !

One more Yankee bird for my RCAF boys to shoot down in 2012, eh ?

The green thing is a 1968 Camaro that my grandma bought back when it was brand new.  Lets' call it that long term project that will probably be never done.  You think modeling gets expensive, try putting a friggin car together right! :dum:

Bah, no problem, do it on a Sunday morning.

What's that? Oh, you mean you wanted it to run?!

I priced out getting a 1972 Mustang to run after it'd been sitting for a few years.  'Twas less of a hit to sell it on Ebay.

That's what I thought - great work

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That thing looks sweet

In fact I betcha you could post it on ARC, say it was a real LM proposal, and this is what the concept model looked like...see how many bite?

AFAIK russian Y is U in arabic alphabet. It should be B (which stands for W).

I only had russian in elementary school but I'm quite sure about that :)

Quoterussian Y is U in arabic alphabet. It should be B (which stands for W).

Well, I had both English and Russian at school, so I don't know where my mistake is... There is no sign in Russian for W (of warm, not whole nor write), and it is difficult to know the nearer, and I regret that the whole Earth is not writing in phonetics... I explain:
- Russian B is the French/English V or French W (of wagon)
- Russian Y is the French Ou and W of wapiti (but not wagon) and the English U (of bull but not up nor use)
So... If you pronounce Wing as Ving, I was wrong, if you pronounce it as U-ing (with the U of bull), I was right. Tell me... Maybe you cannot, you would say it is "w only!". Well, take it differently, after a consonant: for Twin, do you prefer Tvin or Tuin with the u of bullshit :) ? I thought the second was better, if you prefer the first, it's okay. :)

Tophe, that all depends on whether you're speaking one of the following:

1.  Bad movie English with a Russian accent.
2.  Simulated movie Russian (which is nearly the same thing as #1).
3.  Actual spoken English with a genuine Russian accent.

Funny triplex choice... :D  It reminds me that Elvis (the King) is written in Japanese as Erubisu... and London is pronounced in French as Londrrh...

Well, my question was slightly different. What-if an English diplomat named Winston arrived in Russia, and tried to write his name in Cyrillic alphabet? He would like to have it pronounced correctly, as much as possible, how to do? There is no joke involved, just a communication problem.
According to me, Vinston is clearly wrong, U-inston (will the u of full) would be almost ok.

I have thought of another example, French, and I don't know how to say it English, maybe Ollie will help me translating.
Let us track down the French writing of your W and U (of full):
- we pronounce W in Watt as your W in Wing (and Watt)
- we pronounce OU in jour as your U in full
- sometimes, OU is used as a consonant before a vowel, exactly as your W, in the words oui (wee), ouest (west), ouistiti (wisteetee), ouates (wat), ouailles (wai).
So, if the W was not existing in French, we would pronounce correctly Ou-ing as your Wing, while we would mispronounce Ving different from your Wing.
That is why I confirm my Russian Y (for U-ing) and not B (for Ving)...
OK ?
