And still, noone for whom it doesn't work is able to tell me which fracking browser and operating system they are using. Is that so hard, people?

The cause is related to having two names referring to the same site, I can do it a different way which may fix it but I NEED TO KNOW WHICH BROWSERS HAVE ISSUES SO I CAN TEST MY FIX!

Thank you.

I'm confused. I open up the original site with one 'l' and then I have to login. When I do get logged in I get automatically transferred to the new address with two 'll'.

Is this intentional?

RAFF-35

I know this is minor, but when I press the always keep logged in button, I get logged out every time I revisit the site... Also, is there any way to have a look at how many times a post has been read? Just I liked that statistic

Can everyone PLEASE do Overscan a favour and tell him WHICH BROWSER AND OPERATING SYSTEM you use when posting problems on this thread? Help him to help you!

All the browsers on my laptop (don't ask) have no problems connecting me to the LL site when I enter the L address.
For the record they are Safari 9.1.2, Firefox 47.0, Chrome  51.0.2704.103 and Tor 17.0.9.
OS is OSX 10.9.5.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Update: The original site login page only redirects to the new address. It does not save the login details. I then went into Favourites on IE11 Win10 and changed the saved address to open up on the new (2ll) pages. Now login details are saved and I have no trouble.

There is a downside to this now.... if you have linked to the original site on other forums, will the links still work?

Its not technically possible to have multiple URLs on one forum. One or the other has to be set as the forum's location.

Therefore one or the other has to be the actual URL, and the other URL has to redirect.

Technically, using a 301 "Redirected Permanently" will tell Google, etc, to go to the same page on the other site, so all links will continue to work.

Ultimately, the easiest solution is probably to change back to http://www.whatifmodelers.com as the default domain and put www.whatifmodellers.com as a redirect, or bin it completely.

So currently I have implemented a solution that redirects www.whatifmodelers.com to www.whatifmodellers.com.

All links are forwarded correctly so no existing links will break.

"Save logon" should work correctly now.

Right one question as I'm totally confused.

Which site is the official one L or LL ? I log in on L and have no problems what so ever. (I should say that I always log off after I've been in)

Now a small unimportant request. Can we have the  smiley on the ready use bar rather than in the "more" group please ?

Chris
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I'd second that too, the 'more' group sometimes doesn't pop up as designed and takes 2 or 3 attempts before it appears.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

My problem is I forgot to delete the original, one " L " link from my Favourites list. All done now.

I can test on my iPad tonight. It works fine on Safari on MacOS, Chrome on MacOS, Chrome on Windows, IE on Windows.

Zombolt

It's working again for me.

I know it's late, but I'm rolling Firefox on Win7. It also didn't work on my Mac on Safari. (I'm still learning Mac...)
